Chose cruise for itinerary ( it does not stop in Russia) and after cruise scheduling- so far service excellent, cabin horrible constant noise ( they moved us last night to port side), quite a bit of Horizon Court food very chewy Mexican, pork; fruit very fresh, good variety but question quality- does not seem to be quality level of Discovery, Regal, or Enchanted ships;casino is very small, ...

Fantastic itinerary let down by very poor service

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Island Princess

Timing and a great itinerary leaving from Southampton made me choose The Island Princess. I came on it solo and am a ballroom dancer and was hoping to meet other like-minded people. Sadly I have to say I have been very very disappointed and what could have been a great cruise has come out, in my opinion, below all the other four cruise lines, Cunard, Fred Olsen, MSC and P&O, I have travelled ...

Mixed Emotions

t I travel with my partner Janet. We chose this cruise for the itinerary. 33 days with ports in Iceland and Norway. The Island Princess seemed to be the perfect way to visit the northern ports and June the perfect season to do so. This is not the review I had hoped to write when we made the reservations. The disappointment was not with the itinerary, but the ship. No, not even the ship, but ...

Beautiful ship with some challenges

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Star

We chose this ship for the itinerary to cruise around Iceland with a smaller ship. We traveled with our two adult children and spouses. It was a treat to have the family together. Ship was beautiful and spacious for the number of people on board 900+. Many places to sit and relax but our favorite was the Explorer Lounge in the front of the ship which is on two levels. The staff was courteous but ...

Absolutely Wonderful

I have been to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland and loved each of them so I wanted to finally see Iceland. It’s an amazing and stunningly beautiful destination. It’s safe, immaculately clean, and has a rich and interesting history, as well as a friendly and congenial population. Viking did a terrific job - everything was well-organized, the excursions were great, the guides were personable ...

My spouse and myself cruised around Iceland for a week on the Viking Star. We booked an “Explorers Suite” in the aft section of the ship. This was my seventh cruise but my first with Viking having previously sailed with Cunard, Disney, Carnival and Royal Caribbean. We booked Viking based on its reputation as a premier cruise line. Overall I have to say I was satisfied but underwhelmed. ...

Elite Cruise Experience To See Iceland's Highlights

Our group of eight flew into Reykjavik on Icelandair, a day ahead of our embarkation. Our driver, Walter, picked us up at the Keflavik airport and took us to a nearby bakery (our flight arrived at 7:30 a.m.), and then straight to The Blue Lagoon. It was the perfect first stop after our overnight flight. We stayed for about two hours, which was plenty of time to enjoy the amenities, including a ...

Well done Viking

Friends and Family had sailed with Viking (both Ocean and River) all with glowing endorsements. Decided to give V/Ocean a go and we were not disappointed until several of our well planned excursions were cancelled. In particular, a scheduled and confirmed by Viking excursion back in April - when the excursion window opened, was snatched back by Viking while we were onboard and sailing our ...

Excellent cruise on a very happy ship with wonderful itinerary

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Costa Favolosa

We chose this cruise because of the dates and the itinerary, which fit with other travel plans. Also, the price for the cruise was extremely reasonable compared to other cruise lines making the same itinerary. However, we were hesitant about booking with Costa, largely because of the negative reviews on this and other sites from U.S. Citizens. But I must conclude that these negative reviews ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Europa

User Avatar

OVERVIEW: I have done multiple cruises with Hapag Lloyd's (HL) small luxury ships over the last eight years, the MS Europa (German is the on-board language) and the Europa 2 (German and English are on board languages). Amazingly, even since Covid, unlike on some other "luxury' lines, food, service, ship condition, and overall organization have remained outstanding on the Europa, nearly ...
