The Journey is our favorite ship and this was our fifth cruise on her. The price was very good, under $5000 for a balcony cabin for two. The reason we love Azamara is that they go out of their way to make passengers feel at home. We were in Civitavecchia 3 years ago. The new port gate is pretty far away from the old one. You have to take the port bus from the old gate to the parking lot then take the ship's shuttle to the ship.
Check in was easy and we were upgraded to a balcony cabin. The cabin is small compare to Celebrity but with lots of storage space. The shower area is a joke. I am 5' 9 and is difficult to ...

We chose this cruise because we were asked to cancel a previous cruise with Oceania which was over-booked! We had a problem finding a cruise at such a late date. We chose this cruise because of longer stays in ports and the fact that smaller ship allows you to connect with people. While we did connect with people (we met some really nice ones!), the ship skewed about 10 years older than we are (we're in our mid 50's with a child still at home). We'd probably wait 10 more years before going on another Azamara cruise for just this reason.

Chose this cruise primarily for the itinerary, and it did not disappoint. Sailed from Rome and stopped at Sorrento, Amalfi, Taormina (Sicily), Mykonos, and Santorini before ending in Athens. So many choices for Sorrento and Amalfi.

Four cruises this year (Celebrity to Baltic Capitols, Royal Caribbean Allure to Caribbean, Azamara Tuscany 7 night, Regent Seven Seas Mariner 21 night transatlantic from Lisbon to Miami). 11-12 cruises on many lines in last 15 years.
