Cabin: Club Veranda Stateroom

We chose this cruise because we were asked to cancel a previous cruise with Oceania which was over-booked! We had a problem finding a cruise at such a late date. We thought that Azamara would be a good bet as it is supposed to be a 6-star cruise ship, having previously been on Oceania and Seabourn we had great hopes but unfortunately were were disappointed. The stateroom and especially the bathroom were very small fora 6-star ship and although staff were very pleasant we felt that there was not enough information available regarding port visits. We did not book any excursions as they were extremely overpriced and decided to explore on our own.

The food was slightly disappointing and I had to return a meal twice, once because the shellfish was not cooked (dangerous) and secondly, because the lamb was so tough it was inedible.

There was no room in the small swimming pool. People were just sitting around the edge chatting (no room to swim!) and loungerAzsamara were always fully occupied and placed so close together it looked like sardines in a tin!

Cabin Review

Club Veranda Stateroom

Cabin V1

Cabin rather small for a 6-star ship but otherwise very clean. Bathroom was very small and uncomfortable to use. No loungers on balcony - just small table and two chairs.

Attendants were good and thorough at cleaning.

Port Reviews

Florence (Livorno)

A nice town and we enjoyed the extensive shopping area and stops for refreshment.

Monaco (Monte Carlo)

A lovely place to visit. Very picturesque. The Grimaldi Palace was interesting to see.

Our knees ached with all the steps up and down this hilly port!

Valencia

Very lovely town. Beautiful buildings, a lively busy atmosphere. Nice cafes and a market to look round.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

Very attractive place, lively and bustling with tourists. Shopping centre good. Been before so did not venture far.

Marseille

Again a good shopping experience and a lovely French atmosphere.
