We were in Civitavecchia 3 years ago. The new port gate is pretty far away from the old one. You have to take the port bus from the old gate to the parking lot then take the ship's shuttle to the ship.

Check in was easy and we were upgraded to a balcony cabin. The cabin is small compare to Celebrity but with lots of storage space. The shower area is a joke. I am 5' 9 and is difficult to move around let alone a 6 footer.

Food was hit and miss. Lack of variety especially breakfast. The smoothies and juices were nice touches. Pool side BBQ was excellent, lots of fresh seafood and fruits. We even had papaya, apricot and cherry. We went to the buffet for dinner most of the time. The Asian night, Indian night and Spanish night were excellent

Valencia

We have $400 OBC for excursion. We had two. One to Marserrat in Barcelona. The other to Drach cave in Palma. Both are excellent and well organised. The other ports were DIY
