This has only been my second cruise and I feel completely disappointed. The food was average and the staff seem overworked and most places understaffed. I know the allure is the largest boat in the world and that was part of the problem. Too many people. Elevators packed. Toilets stopped working several times and there is a up charge for everything. I suggest looking at the beverage packages prior (soda, alcohol, water). The excursions were the worst, not worth the price. They start very early and you are always in s group of 30 to 40 people. They take you to a spot and tell you to meet back in 1 and half hours. You really can't experience anything in that amount of time. They do this pattern several times during the excursion. The last spot is always a shop your forced to hang out at. And if you tired or have young children and would like to stay on the bus, you can't. The line to get tickets for the colleseum in Rome was 1 hour long, the line to go thru security was another hour. There is no way 1 hour and 30 minutes would suffice, but of course they don't tell you. Another excursion involved getting on and off several trains. At times we waited 30 minutes each time for the train. I recommend doing it on your own so you don't have to be on a ridiculous and inefficient schedule. Otherwise it's a 8:45 am to 4 or 5 pm day with lots of waiting around, traveling quickly from one spot to the next. Also, several groups of 40 people are all at the same sites. Trust me the small shops and restaurants are overwhelmed and the experience is like fighting to get your gelato order in. If you stay on the boat during the day many places do not open until 1 p.m. and that goes for activities like the kids pool area as well. Most times the hot tub had a minimum of 20 people in it, it's uncomfortable. My advice is too have extremely low expectations and do not do any excursions by them. You can always catch a taxi or a free shuttle to the local town your ship docks at, they don't really advertise that. Try a mid size boat, biggest is clearly not best. Read Less

Well lets start with the good points, Ronald L in the dining room was spot on. Also Lilia out cabin steward was good also. I have filled out 3 RCCL surveys on the website that say someone will be in contact within 48 hours, well I wish someone would reply it wouldn't have prompted me to write a review here. They obviously don't care anyway, but it might help someone else make up there mind for a future cruise. For one the ship is to big, they have lost that personal touch. Not sure if they had it as its my first time cruising RCCL, I cruise often this was my first on RCCL. The wait staff in the dinning room that seat you must be in training out of high school, they walk around the dining room with a map in there hands trying to seat you, very unprofessional. The entertainment is well OKAY, the staff that they use for the promenade deck shows etc. are doing the shows well showing how uninterested they are in being there. The headliner show, called the Bohemians and then something trying to reenact Queen shows up on stage, disaster... I think in the first 20 minutes one quarter of the theater left. I asked for a diet coke in the Amber theater they said they don't have them, but go to the Comedy club about 50 feet away from the theater, and I could get a diet coke. Amazing. The shore excursions are priced out of this world, don't know how a family of 4 or 5 can afford them. They like to price gouge, I had signed up for the daily spinning classes in the gym for $25 a class, I done 3 and didn't show up for the fourth and get charged half price. Greedy. On the formal night we get dressed up and get our pictures taken, we go to pick up the pics the next night and to see a RCCL banner going across the picture. Just what I want in my living a pic of my wife and I all dressed up with the RCCL logo across the pic. Maybe the should tell people what the pic would look like. Oh and they don't have laundry facilities on these ships, yup you guessed it have to pay to get laundry done and because there's no laundry facility there's no iron, so yup have to pay to get things ironed. Hope this helps someone, hey I might even get a response from RCCL. Eddie Read Less

We had a perfect cruise on the Allure Of The Seas. We arrived at 12.30 checked in and was onboard quickly there were no lines. Our Cabin was ready so we dropped off our luggage and had a look around the ship. We signed up for Internet which worked well all of the cruise. Our cabin was a Crown Loft Suite we had so much room for the 3 of us and 2 bathrooms to. The balcony was large with 2 sun beds you could have fitted more. We used the Suite lounge for our morning cappuccino best coffee I have had on a cruise thank goodness. We also ate most meals at The Coastal Kitchen as the food and service were amazing. The free drinks where good to. I also found that the staff on the Allure were always friendly and helpful. It never felt crowded and there was always plenty of available chairs at the pool. I would love to cruise again on The Allure loved it all. Read Less

Because of fabulous Youtube we watched several videos of other peoples vacations aboard the Allure of the Seas and yet we were still awed by the magnificent ship and everything it had to offer. Our embarkation was super easy! We got right on the ship, started our drink package use, was greeted by lots of people, did a little dancing on the promenade and then walked around to explore. We had dinner at 150 Central Park and it was incredible. Our waiter Richard was excellent and the place was beautiful. He chatted to us about the food we received and for a special night it was really nice. We would have gone back again if not for…..My only complaint and I think I'm justified on this is that "it is an upscale restaurant". People were allowed to bring little children and even strollers into the place which to me took away from the feel. The babies cried and the toddlers got down to walk or be chased around the place every 15 minutes. I wanted to enjoy the evening without little ones running into our table. I think there should be a policy about that. We even went late. Thought the food places were good. So much selection from the dining room to the buffet places there is no way you couldn't find something you liked. Yes people complained about this and that from previous cruises that we overheard but we loved everything. Our stateroom attendant was terrific as well as everyone we met. Always a smile even the people working the pool decks when it was super hot outside bringing drinks. My drink got knocked over and someone was there right away to replace it and didn't even ask for my drink card. They just asked what it was and got me another no questions. the only time I felt pushed or bombarded was in the spa. My mother and I received massages and before I could even get my clothes on I was urged persistently to purchase $144 worth of skin care products. Also, there is no relaxation room afterward or ability to use the shower, steam room etc which would have made for a nice day. Next time I would skip the spa stuff. The massage was excellent though but I felt tossed out afterward when your still in that dreamy state. Shout out to Richard in the main dining room too for excellent service. Excursions: We did some and all were good except the Grotto tour in Capri. If you don't go at the right time all you see is a little blue water at the entrance and then complete darkness. It was also a little cavern so you are in and out quick. For 35 Euro a person it is something that I will file been there done that. Capril was beautiful! You could spend a while there for sure. Anyone wanting to book this cruise should do it! We did it again for 2016 and can't wait. There is just so much to do that a week is not long enough to enjoy everything the ship has to offer and all the ports. Read Less

We flew from the west coast of Australia to Fort Lauderdale , around 30 hours but we thought it would be worth it. We did back to back cruises, 7 days to Bahamas then the trans Atlantic crossing to Barcelona. To begin with we arrived eventually at Fort Lauderdale, personally I loved the place however, as I seem to be finding out Accom in USA is very expensive. We got the shuttle down to Allure of the Seas, amazing to see and looked wonderful. On this 7 day cruise we had a balcony cabin on deck 12. In a nut shell, the Bahamas was no where near what I expected. The beaches were not a patch on anything in Australia and I live 2 KM from the beach. Shopping was mainly jewellery /Diamonds and we were told they were so cheap because they buy so many. I sold Jewellery for 6 years and personally I did not think they were cheap. So enough said about the Bahamas, The ship was incredible, so much to see and do and it never appeared to busy apart from day 1. The ship was full ,the food was fantastic and I have to say much better then RCCL serve up in Australia, The crew were just the best ever, the crowd was great and we met some nice people, we had a ball. The second leg was a 12 night repositioning cruise to Barcelona, We moved into a Grand Suite for this part. I must say we needed the extra time to get around the ship and discover everything and if Allure of the Seas came to Australia I would be the first person to book a cruise. Now the second part of the cruise was a little different, the ship was full of RCCL crown and anchor members, I believe around 1500 or even more. Having been in a suite before, we liked the extras, but you pay for it to. However once you reach Diamond Plus membership you seem to get all things a suite guest gets, for free. I do not have an issue with that as we will be Diamond Plus Members within a year, apart from the fact we payed a lot of money only to be turned away for the first 2 days because everything was full with Diamond Plus members. This made me think why would I want to pay 6 times or more and get 0. I did complain along with other suite guests and they did give us a rebate. As far as the Allure of the seas goes - Fantastic loved every minute The cruise Director Jimmy and Staff - Awesome The whole crew - The best ever The food - Best I have had on RCCL in 2 years The only downside we believe was once you have been on Allure, it is really tough to sail on a smaller ship.
