My wife and I were looking for a cruise to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had been on a recent cruise on the same ship. Royal had done a pretty good job of trying to keep cruisers safe from the Pandemic on that one. This time it was totally different. No pandemic protocols whatsoever. Children under 11 free and no vaccination required. So we spent 8 days in a full ship, cramped quarters, with unvaccinated children running wild. Hitting all the floors on elevators and then jumping off at the next floor while cackling like little hyenas. Shoveling food off the buffets and dropping utensils in the floor. Using the entire ship for a rumpus room. Running over us in hallways. Not a parent or security to be seen anywhere. The sad fact is we subsidized the cost of allowing this monstrous behavior so the kids could run wild for free for a week. If you think you can get away from them by eating in the Diamond Lounge. Forget it. They were there with or without parents and with no controls whatsoever. And the worst thing is my wife and I who are fully vaccinated with double boosters both came down with Covid the morning we were to exit the cruise. I have been loyal to Royal for over 20 years. That is OVER! Avoid Allure at any price. Avoid any cruise with non vaccinated and free children rates. Let the parents pay a fair price for their family cruises. Shame on Royal!
