Selected this cruise because of the Amazon content. We normally do not select a cruise with this many sea days and unfortunately extra sea day was added due to water conditions that forced us to miss a port (Recife). Disappointed that Viking didn’t seem concerned about the missed port and no discussion of any compensation for missed tours etc. This was our second Ocean cruise with Viking and we ...
After well over thirty ocean and river cruises, we were excited to board the Sun for our first ocean adventure with Viking, From the moment we were greeted at the airport, Viking made us feel like honored guests. Everything was well planned with little delay (OK there's not much anyone can do about the traffic between LaGuardia and midtown Manhattan at 5 PM on a Friday).
Our stateroom was ...

We chose this trip solely for its itinerary (specifically, Amazon, Rio and Buenos Aires) which has proven to be quite exciting.
The ship exceeded our expectations (this was our first sail on Viking after cruising with Sliversea, Oceania, Celebrity and others).
Viking Sun is a beautifully appointed ship with exemplary design (it is also very new: delivered on 25 September 2017). Plenty of ...
This was such a unique itinerary that we felt compelled to book as soon as we saw it!
This was a once in a lifetime trip which really informed us about our big, big neighbors to the far south.
The ship was as we expected since we had been on the Viking Star two years ago and were familiar with the layout and amenities. The staff were exceptional in attitude and service, going above and ...
Travelling to the Amazon and visiting Rio were the reasons for choosing this trip. The Included trips were good but the additional excursions were excellent. The submarine ride in Barbados was a o e in a lifetime experience. On board, we both enjoyed the lecture series. We learned so much about the people, history, and politics of each country we visited. It made the shore excursions so much more ...
We sailed from San Juan , 1000 miles up the amazon river, hit cities in Brazil including Rio; visited Montevideo and Buenos Aires. Great itinerary.
The crew were all great, without exception. We say the hotel GM every day. The Captain made a point of visiting several times during the cruise - before this, I only say the captains on formal nights or as a special exception.
The stewards ...
The itinerary of this cruise was great and as it was a segment of the world cruise the entertainment and lectures were superior
Our cabin was upgraded to a penthouse suite from a veranda
This gave us more space for the longer cruise. Additionally we enjoyed complementary drink package so that we could have cocktails anytime of the day and not just beer and wine at lunch and dinner. My wife ...
Viking is our cruise top pick. We loved the ship and it's crew. Included tours need some work. Stops on the buses were poor, Dominica and Tortola were excellent. I understand some of the islands were destroyed during the hurricanes but more beach scenes or longer stops are needed. Not enough time to enjoy the views. This is our 3rd Viking Cruise and the included shore excursions were ...
We chose this cruise to firstly explore New York for a couple of days before embarking on a wonderful trip to Bermuda and the Virgin Isles. Our dining experience was always excellent wherever we ate, as the service and choice of food was excellent throughout the ship.
Our cabin was great and so were our stewards, who catered for our every need.
The ship was spotless in every area and the ...
