Went on uniworld last year Avignon to Lyon. Great cruise. Great food, wine service. Not this year. What happened to the personal butlers? Gone! Food was at best average and some afternoons even worse. Cabins are smaller. Tours are shorter and not as interesting. I loved last year. Not this year. I would not recommend this tour. I do not think I will go uniworld again based on the price and value. Highly disappointing. I plan to let the company and ceo know. You have choices and think about which lines give you what you want. Cabin is comfortable for small folks but big people will not fit in the shower. Had to remove table and store luggage outside cabin. Tonight dinner was a buffet. Hotel in Prague was not 5 star. 4 at best and generous at that. Ride from Prague to boat 4 hours. They gave u a bottle of water and stopped at mac Donald’s. This is not what I expect from a 5 star cruise line. Do not book Read Less

My husband and I just returned (Sept. 2016) from one of Uniworld's European Boutique River Cruises on The River Princess. We were on the Delightful Danube & Prague 10-day cruise. What a wonderful and memorable experience. Previously we had been on 4 ocean cruises. River cruising is a different experience...more personal and intimate. The ship's public and private rooms all are decorated lovely and both were kept very clean. The dining room service and food was top-notch! Breakfast and lunch were buffet style with wonderful presentations and a very wide-range of delicious choices - something for everyone. Dinner was sit-down and equally as delicious. The land tours were very well organized and the tour guides were excellent. If you go on this cruise, skip the Regensburg City Walking Tour - it was uninteresting. Instead, perhaps take the BMW Factory Tour. Most of the entertainment, including the Captain's presentation about the ship and guest lecturers were interesting, information and entertaining. There was only one night in Vienna (Von Trapp singer) that we did not care for. We were thrilled with this cruise experience and highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed! Read Less

We took the Danube River Cruise from Prague to Budapest on the Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection. Our boat was the River Princess and had cabins for a maximum number of 130 guests. The smaller number of passengers made the cruise more intimate and enjoyable with the other passengers and the crew. The cabin was more spacious that I had experienced on other cruises. The food was outstanding and paired with wines for lunch and dinner. Entertainment was very enjoyable and matched the country / city where we were docked. The shores excursions at our ports of call were outstanding. The local guides were obviously well versed in their city and customs and were able to convey this information very well. Our cruise director was outstanding and knowledgeable in addition to being available when needed. The cruise was a little pricey, but all on-board and excursion tips were included, and all the drinks at dinner and the lounge were included. That and the fact that you wanted for nothing made the Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection for the Danube River Cruise a great selection. On my next river cruise, I would select the Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection. Read Less

This cruise was first class from beginning to end. The staff were very friendly and incredibly efficient. The food was excellent and the different tours offered catered to everyone. the private Uniworld concert in Vienna was fantastic. I would totally recommend this line. They brought excellent entertainment onboard, used very good tour guides in each area, and took care of every detail from the minute we arrived at the airport, until we left the hotel on the last day. This was an all inclusive cruise, pretty much everything was included including alcohol and the coffees etc. during guided tours. We saw some other river cruise ships when we were in some ports and were able to compare. In my opinion the Uniworld ships are a little smaller, more intimate, and exactly what we were looking for. Would definitely travel on this line again, and the cruise was full of people who only travel Uniworld. That was a good sign to us Read Less

As stated so well by fellow travelers, the accommodations and crew on board River Princess were truly excellent. Experienced local guides - several with 8+ years associated with Uniworld - and our Cruise Director were exceptional. The ship's interior has been recently renovated; the furniture wall coverings looked fresh and bright in an art deco style. The entertainment in Vienna included a very special night of lovely music at the Klosterneuburg Monastery - "The Original Wiener Sisi Show" - search on YouTube for a sample. The music and its intimate setting were spectacular. Our sole, relatively minor nit to pick: The standard price-inclusive "premium wines" didn't meet our expectations. The local whites (Riesling, Furmint, etc.) were fine, but the standard selections of reds on board were a bit of a disappointment. (Think about your local wine shop and consider the percentage of German reds you see on the shelves :-) Uniworld offered optional fine wines (Rhone, Burgundy, etc.), but at €40-70 per bottle, we frequently opted to modify the dinner strategy to select entrées that paired best with the standard white wines. If you're not a wine enthusiast, the differences won't be worthy of notice. The cruise director, the hotel manager and their staff earned our praise and high respect. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cruise. One last hint -- the laundry facilities on board are provided without additional charge. The machines are modern and function well. If the Miele brand of washing machine is unfamiliar, be aware that the SPIN selection has a sub-menu. The default SPIN is pretty slow and won't remove much of the water from the load. Selection of the ~1400 rpm mode vastly improves the performance. Happy laundering ! Read Less
