We chose this cruise because of the itinerary: visiting 10 Caribbean islands in 2 weeks with very few sea days. We are not interested in the cruise 'experience'. For us the ship was a place to sleep and eat between visits. In addition we wanted a smaller ship and, very important, adults only.
We had no illusions that this would be a luxury cruise but we were very happy with what we experienced ...
Chose this 2 week cruise for the itinerary - 12 islands with only 1 sea day. Flew Gatwick - Barbados quick transfer & luggage delivered straight to cabin. Have sales on other Marella ships but first time on Explorer 2 & quite impressed. Clean & spacious and adults only with a range of bars, eateries & entertainment. Younger vibe than some other cruises we've been on.
CABIN Inside cabin deck ...
we like to try different ships as deja vu sets in very quickly as we have found out. Ships staff excellent with a helpful attitude in all areas and kept the ship very clean. Food good in all locations especially in kora la , surf and turf, beach cove and nonnas. Main dining and italian particulary very good. Self service usual bun fight but better than discoveries. Bars are all good with ...
We choose this cruise to be away for Christmas for the first time. The ship is adult only and this suited us. The standards on board are very good, food, cleanliness etc. Our cabin was on deck 12 (1253) with Monna and Miller taking excellent care of us, we really cannot praise them too highly, polite, efficient with a great sense of humour. We would cruise on this ship again and if we were ...
Just come back from a christmas cruise. The ship was only refurbed in May 2019 and the communal areas show this. They are very tastefully decorated. There are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from on the ship. If you want to eat st surf and turf (payment) book early. We ate at the asian restaurant also for a payment and although we tried new items of food i would say the curry was average. ...
We chose Marella as we have now been on all the Marella ships and this particular cruise was around the Eastern Caribbean.
Our TUI Dreamliner flight to/from Barbados was good and as before on a long flight we upgraded to the Premium cabin for the extra room and comfort. It was great checking our bags in at Gatwick only to see them again outside our cabin after a speedy ships check in obtaining ...
Was going to give them 3 stars for a cheap and cheerful cruise but you have to give TUI an extra star for the help and support we received from their staff. We took 3 kids, one only 8 months and most of the airplane and ship staff were brilliant.
Positives:
- Drop bags at check in and don't see them again until you're at your cruise ship cabin
- Great airplane staff who can't do enough ...
This was our third Caribbean cruise with TUI but the first with Marella. The first two were on the Dream and the Celebration.
Marella have brought a more commercial side to TUI which is not necessarily for the best. A sense of greed has crept in which is a shame. Having said that, we still enjoyed our one week cruise very much and have booked again for next year.
In this review, I aim to ...
My first Marcella Cruise I found the ship and crew and staff very helpful it was also my 1st all inclusive and there was no shortage of drinks all over the ship you had just put your empty glass down and bar staff were rushing to give you a refill cocktail of the day was always yummy the entertainment was first class and so professional that comment was heard all over the ship by passengers the ...
We chose this cruise because it visited so many different places in the Caribbean - we only had one sea day in 2 weeks as we did a back to back cruise. When we landed at barbados we walked off the plane on to a waiting coach which took us straight to the cruise ship - we didn’t have to go through passport control or pick up our baggage which was a definite bonus. We must have been on the boat just ...
