This holiday took a great deal of difficulty to put together due to my mobility, getting from Perth to Sydney etc. We had travelled with Royal Caribbean before and on this ship but never before on any ship, and we have been on 11 cruises, have we had trouble sleeping because of noisy neighbours. We thought that on the first night when our neighbours came in at 3.30 ish making a great deal of noise that it would be a one off but no. It happened every night. Everyone said that we were too nice not complaining about it sooner but we didn't want the aggravation. After 5 nights we did complain and were moved to another cabin which allowed us at least a good nights sleep. Royal Caribbean offered us compensation for our inconvenience as they call it. The offer was a percentage of this cruise cost off our next cruise with them. It was the worst holiday we have ever had. Would we ever travel with them again, I very much doubt it. We had cruised with Royal Caribbean before and thought they were ideal for what we required. As well as our noisy neighbours there were many drunken teenagers on board many who seemed very young. I would go as far as to say underage for drinking. I thought that people under 18 were not supposed to be served alcohol. Is it that the drinks packages are not monitored and underaged people are allowed to have them? Is this the cause of the diobolical behaviour? There were small children crawling about on the dance floor. Very dangerous. Where were the security staff to stop such things? We hear that 3 boys were put off the ship in Noumea for being drunk and urinating off their balcony. Also that 2 families were locked in their cabin for fighting and put off at Auckland. We were also faced with a drunken yob in the theatre at 20.00hrs as drunk as a lord shouting out to the artist from the back of the auditorium. Again no security. It was all such a shame as the staff were good and the food and service in the restaurants was excellent. Unfortunately as we had been on this ship just a few months earlier we had experienced most of the shows before although they were very good. Our feeling is, big ships, more people doesn't add up to a cosy, friendly cruise. We have complained since to Royal Caribbean but have not had a satisfactory answer, hence the delay in putting in this review. This is surprising as until now this was our cruise line of choice because they seemed to respect the feelings and complaints of passengers. Read Less

Ship : it was a bit overwhelming at first , as I have not yet been on such a big Ship. However once we found and navigated our way round it was easy to find places .American dollars was a bit annoying and having to buy aust sockets was too . Cabin : our Cabin wasn't sorted out for 2 single beds , however as soon as we requested them to be separated . It was not too long after we returned that night it was done. Our cabin was lovely , the heating/cooling was a bit difficult to get used to , however room steward came and showed how it worked . the Fahrenheit took a bit getting used to. Entertainment and Activities : my favorite was the Ifly and bumper cars . I highly recommend " the key" program as that will get you passed the huge line ups (if they become an issue) My mum enjoyed the shows as I did . Service : was brilliant - always smiles and ready to assist . Our room steward was friendly and willing to assist when we needed . Guest services were also amazing - especially in assisting my elderly mum. Ports and shore excursions: the team to assist us to disembark and embark back onto the ship were ultra helpful - again especially with my mum - they went out their way to assist and listened when I needed help with mum. My mum loved it and we will be cruising again on her in Nov 2020 . Read Less

Well we were extremely excited to be spending our honeymoon on the Carnival Spirit but the disappointment started pretty well as soon as we boarded and continued to stay true to form throughout the entire cruise! Where to start? * Upon boarding the ship we were given a letter that explained due to Bushfires on Moreton Island we were now going to be travelling to Hobart instead and to pack warmer clothing or Contact Carnival before Boarding date to receive a refund, little bit late for that considering we were already on board! An email or any form of communication prior to boarding would have been nice! * Once we boarded the ship we made our way to the buffet for lunch where we walked around for half hour trying to find a spare table * Tried to take a nice photo of the view out the window but the windows were absolutely filthy * Room TV was tiny and only had carnival channels and half a dozen other strange channels, no movies to watch, no DVD player * Only one power point in the entire room! * Our "queen bed" was 2 single beds pushed together that kept separating, so romantic.... * The food was the worst and actually what made the whole trip so much worse. The buffet food was over cooked, dry, flavorless, very little variety and the same food for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Their was minimal healthy options and the food literally made us sick. The restaurant food was a little better but after booking Anytime dining we were given 7:45pm seating which then meant to be able to go to the resteraunt we would be eating really late and missing the nights entertainment. When we decided we had enough of the buffet food and decided to try the resteraunt we were sat at a table of 10, expected to eat dinner shoulder to shoulder with another 4 couples, again such a romantic honeymoon dinner Read Less

We are middle age, work together in a high pressure business so was looking for a cruise that we could unwind and relax, we chose this cruise at it had numerous sea days which we enjoy as we can get to do as we please, no pressure to be up early to get to a shore excursion etc. We have been to fiji previously and an island is an island so the destinations were not an issue for us but all beautiful places to go. The ship although a little dated was always clean, we had a vista suite which was spacious enough and functional, the balcony was large enough for two fold down lounge chairs and two chairs and a small table so if we wanted to lay in the sun in privacy the balcony was the place to go. We were offered the drink package at $119 per person per day - absolutely ludicrous, $2856 for the two of us for our 12 day cruise, hey i love a beer and a long island ice tea my wife likes a wine or two but if i was to break even on that package i would have been smashed every day. The biggest let down for our cruise was the food, Lido ok you would never go hungry, guys burgers was great, pizza was pretty good, empire dining was poor first night we went had the steak which was like 2mm thick and tasteless and luke warm, tried again another night thinking maybe that was just the steak, my wife had pasta which was cold and was like a bowl of clag, i had the pie which was mainly pastry with a bit of cold meat inside - not good. Ok so we thought we would pay and go to the Nouvea restaurant (steakhouse) it was like a try hard 5 star restaurant you would think that being a steakhouse you would be able to cook a steak medium rare, my australian Wagyu was cooked from rare to medium rare to well done, my wife's steak even though she wanted well done was like a hockey puck and the lobster tail should be called yabby tail it was that small. We didn't book any shore excursions but read somewhere Noumea had a new shopping centre built so we went to the shore excursion desk to ask where in Noumea was the shopping centre, young girl looked at me and said no no there would just be like village tables etc, i said you sure, she said ok i will ask someone else, came back 5 minutes later to tell us yes there is a shopping centre, asked do you know where though and reply was no i have never been here before. look all in all we got out of the cruise what we wanted, to relax, would i book another cruise with carnival - probably not. However as this ship was not as fantastic as others we have been on doesn't mean its not great for others, families with kids on the cruise look like they were having a ball so its what you want to get out of the trip is whats important. We chose this trip as it went at a suitable time and to different islands to our last cruise. We found staff always happy and helpful. As I am celiac, we chose set dining in the dining room For breakfast and dinner. This meant I ordered the night before and they were then able to accomodate my requirements. My husband had a few meals that were not as hot as they could have been however compared to barreling in the smorgasbord area on deck 7, we would take the dining room food any time. The other area was good for a quick meal, but certainly not a relaxing one for us. I would happily recommend this cruise to anyone. We booked excursions on the boat as well as some that were not organised by the cruise line. Definitely preferred the private tours as they were much more personable. Next cruise I would like to do the tour behind scenes on the ship. I was too late to book this. Read Less

This Cruise was to experience Fiji & its different areas without me actually flying there, staying for a week or two & realising I was not enjoying the destination chosen. Eg Suva I would not visit again, Dravini Island was absolutely lovely, Nadi had nice hot weather, Savusavu & Loutouka also lovely ports to enjoy with awesome weather & places to visit. Vanuatu is always a favourite. Lovely people. The Princess Cruise line was very enjoyable. The bed & pillow were total comfort. Food, food, food. If anyone complains about the food, maybe their standards & expectations are rather high, although this is only my 2nd cruise. Such a variety & abundance of food, available 24/7. Staff onboard are all lovely. Passenger/staff ratio is very good. 3000 passengers v 1000 staff. Age group of cruise....Not many children at all. Majority of ages I would guess 55-85. The older age group were able bodied, meaning very few walkers or wheelchairs. Mostly couples travelling. Would highly recommend this cruise. The month of travel was extremely appropriate too. Not stifling hot & no storms or rain (except Suva but it rains everyday anyway). Read Less

I wanted to visit the islands in this itinerary after many years, but found that many should not have been included. Nothing to do except have a massage or have your hair braided on the beach. What a waste of port time. The ship is very rusty and for a ship just 11 years old it is poorly maintained. My Premium balcony was rusted all along the top and bottom. I thought the ship has been refurbished but apart from a new flat screen tv and bed with linen and quilt that were too heavy and hot for sleeping, there is no sign of a refurb. Staff were hit and miss. My cabin steward was unfriendly and grumpy most of the time, and the Botticelli waiters only cared for those buying alcohol. Very rude and rushed, they would put down cutlery for the next course while we were still eating the first course, as though to say hurry up we want to finish early. 3000 passengers mostly old and some quite rude is too much for a ship this size so there were crowds all of the time. The buffet became a nightmare because of the crowds and lack of tables. In port we thought there might be more space but it seems many passengers just stayed on board so the buffet became an unpleasant place. I will not be cruising Princess again. After many cruises with them this is the worst and their standards have dropped. All they want is your money and the upselling on board is tiring. The Spa staff would stand around at the elevators trying to sign you up to expensive treatments and the shop staff would have raffles just to entice you in. Never again. Read Less

This was our second time trying to see Fiji as an earlier cruise could not go there because of storms. Understandable. However from Day 1 toilet issues, unpleasant smells, internet dropouts, and earlier online excursions not showing on ships computer it was frustrating and infuriating. It almost looked like we were not going to make it to Fiji yet again. By Day 5 after MUCH reporting our toilet got fixed until the 2nd last day. The foul smells at times were overbearing. Lost our minutes on the mediocre internet which did get reissued. The Piazza area is far too small and dangerous. Often passengers were standing up and down the stairs to view the proceedings. Ruby Princess certainly had better days. Our first time on this particular ship. Our many other previous Princess cruises were great would not have any problem recommending it. A lot of other little things that pushed our COME BACK NEW to get us off here. My hubby hates flying so cruising is what we love to do. I have traveled with many of our family and friends. Choose well in future. The ship overall is small, feels claustrophobic. The dining was good. Most staff were pleasant however it was as if the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing. The safety drill was carried out in the Princess Theatre which was better than some other ships that have you standing up on the outside decks. Usually love the Princess line however Ruby did disappoint us. Read Less

Relaxing 2 weeks. Dining room was a highlight. Food was brilliant. All staff on board were friendly and helpful. Share by Curtis stone was really good. Would recommend. Needs more shared outdoor areas and more seating inside. Shows were good. Very smooth check in and disembarkation. An older crowd though so not that great got younger cruisers as the entertainment was directed to the older demographic. Other than that it was a nice cruise. Got to see some beautiful places. Dravuni was the most beautiful place I have seen. Spent the day swimming and hanging out with the locals. Getting to shore at our stops was easy and well planned. Our balcony room was great. Excellent wardrobe and storage. The bed was amazing. If I could I would of taken it home with me. Best sleep I’ve had in a long time. Would cruise princess again if just for that amazing bed! What Princess Cruise Lines won’t tell US citizens embarking from Australia. They will try to cheat you! 1. Although you purchase everything in US dollars, your onboard credit you were promised is not in US Dollars anymore, but in AUD. We were jipped! 2. TIP: Usually the tip is mandatory/included in most cruises for US citizens, but you do NOT have to pay the fixed tip for Embarking from Australia(there may be other countries too). They make it seem as if it is mandatory fixed tip, but it is not. We spoke to some Australians who said Princess bully’s US citizens into thinking its mandatory tip, but in fact it’s not. You can personally tip what you want to who you want. We tipped the servers/crew in cash. You have to be persistent when speaking to Guest services to make this change on your account. We spoke to 2 guest services representative & they kept saying the tip is mandatory, but that is NOT true. We were able to change it after speaking to another managing representative. You could definitely choose to have the automatic fixed tip distributed to the crew & that’s your prerogative. I’m just saying you have a choice/option to opt out & it’s not mandatory. You do have to use that “tip” money onboard. It came out to about $400 AUD for the 14 day cruise. I chose to buy other things onboard with that & pay cash tip. Hope this helps. 3. Jinex Bay, Fiji - pay the $15 on the cruise line if you want to snorkel there. We tried to pay it when we got there & they denied us entry. 4. Lougenia, Fiji - (some say this is the most beautiful place in the South Pacific). princess doesn’t have any excursions to this location. when you get off the boat there’s a table that sells the tours around the island if you don’t want to pay an arm & a leg for the Princess Excursions. The lady at this table says there’s no transportation to Lougenia & no taxis. That is false. You will have to ask a few other people away from that table for a taxi to get there. We did not know this & hard lesson learned. Never got to go to Lougenia :(. 5. Service overall was subpar to other cruise lines. We had a great waiter, but everything else was below avg in our opinion. 6. By far the worst food of all cruises we have cruised with. We went with a couple who has gone on over 25 cruises & they agreed the food was horrible. 7. Twin beds don’t even come with fitted sheets. Most of the bedding slides off to the floor & we end up having to remake our bed in the middle of the night. 8. Just learn from our mistake. Don’t go on the Ruby. Read Less

I returned home today from a 8 night 9 day cruise to the South Pacific, on probably day 3 our living hell began, two women who myself and my children did not know only from bumping in to while I was on the smoking deck began to abuse me and stalk Harass intimidate and bully us , the women abused us so badly in the formal dining room my 12 year old daughter almost vomited all over the table she cried so hard , waiters stood and watched it took me to yell for security to drag them out , I had my life threatened. We could not attend events as the women would abuse us , my children were intimidated and bullied from enjoying activities, each time myself and my children begged security for help but only told to report in writing, staff told me to be the bigger person and walk away .. to were they followed us , these women had free rang while we were like caged rats , this abuse was constant for 5/6 days and still nothing was done , last night we had to lock ourselves in our room for 3 hours missing out on the main final party , this cruise is what my children picked for their Xmas present and all they got was a lack of duty of care to protect them from incredible abuse , this was our first holiday and the memory of it’s hell will last a life time , my children are scared to ever get on a shop or trust security to protect them from violent people, as a mother to see my children in fear and beg security for help and receive nothing will never leave me , my daughter who is 12 had a safe place the art gallery and shops but they found her hiding spot , I have spoke to royal cars Caribbean who did not care , what my children have endured and myself but certainly cared about paying our bill , I have contacted a solicitor to fight for my children’s rights because royal Caribbean certainly did not . Awful, nasty experience. Jeez where do I start?? I will dot point.. * the room had ONE power point. That's all. Called guest services and asked for an extension cord as I have a cpap machine. They didn't know what an extension cord was. * The so called lemonade is lemon cordial, the iced tea was a really strange flavour. Coffee from the machine was actually undrinkable... it was like drinking the grinds and hot water. We bought two cappuccinos from a cafe and they were barely coffee... so NO coffee for the whole trip * At brekky they have 2 toasters for everyone... be prepared to wait an eternity. * The staff still open ypur door of the room even when thete is a do not disturb on the door... not very nice when you're half naked * You can download their app and "free wifi" however if you want to keep contact and chat with another person on the ship it costs $9. So take a kiddies radio if you want to keep contact with ypur kids/ partner/ whoever, bring a radio on board. * it costs $30 to get JUST social media on the trip, or pay $50 to get that and e mail etc. The internet " cafe" is 3 computers in a walkway and cost , minimum, $15 for 24 hours. * the tv in the room is old , has about 8 channels, no movies or anything remotely watchable. There's no DVD player. * There's shampoo, soap and body wash in ypur bathroom. That's it. * The so called ' serenity ' adults only area was far from serene... jam packed and blaring music. I don't think they know the meaning of serenity. * The included restaurant... where to start? Firstly you have to stand in a huge queue, where you see the first staff with an I pad. Tell her your cabin number and she taps away at it for about 5 minutes, says no table available. Take a buzzer and go away!!! Come back when the buzzer goes. Get shown your table and given a terribly expensive wine list. The wine I like is usually $15 a bottle. There it was $50. And no option to buy just a glass. So no wine, lemonade or coffee. Then they blare this music out and do a dance. It's so noisy that we can't talk to each other. * The food was the absolute last straw. It was so disgusting that I am making a formal complaint. * NOT WORTH IT, DONT GIVE THEM YOUR HOLIDAY MONEY, wish I hadn't!!! Read Less

Carnival are now offering alcohol drink packages on Australian cruises. They cost $119.00 per day. DO NOT purchase one. My husband and I purchased one and found that we would have been better off to pay as you go. There was no value in the package, we would of saved ourselves a lot of money without this package. We had no problems getting drinks from the Pool Bar but the first night I went to the casino and asked for a drink there was a problem that took the staff a long time to fix. My husband and I then asked for a drink each in the restaurant and were told that our cards did not work. After having the waiter take our cards and referring this to a supervisor we eventually got a drink. My husband then got sick and was in our cabin for the last four days of our cruise. He did not consume any alcohol in this time. I knew that the package was non refundable but thought that maybe I could get OBC for a future cruise as a good will gesture. I approached Guest Services and was dismissed. I was told that the package was non refundable and non transferable. She couldn’t have cared less, she didn’t even ask if I needed help with my husband. On the other hand the next time I approached Guest Services for help (I needed a wheel chair to take my husband off the ship) they could not have been more helpful. The cabin was nice. The food was a hit and a miss. Some nights meals were good and other nights stone cold so that you couldn’t eat it. The ship itself was very well maintained and there was always staff cleaning in the main areas. Overall I had a good cruise, my husband did not. I would sail with carnival again as it is an affordable holiday. Read Less

Have done 5 Princess cruises, are platinum members and were interested to cruise on the Majestic even though we had done the cruise twice before. The dining team for table we had for table 299 had difficulty understanding our requirements. Food service was very slow for the 7.30pm and on occasions we missed the late show in the Princess theatre. Wine service was particularly slow as the wine bottles had to be accesses from lower decks on the ship. The food in the market place was well prepared and presented nicely. There was a number of tender ports and the tender service generally was ok on a couple of occasions there were significant delays in getting back to the ship from the shore where clearly another couple of tenders could have assisted. The entertainment program was excellent. The singers and dancers and sets were amazing really the best I have seen on a cruise ship and we have done over 15 cruises. A big shout out for Sallie the dancer who conducted and trained the Majestic choir for the first time. She did a great job. Read Less

First time on this ship. Have never suffered motion sickness and have experienced heavy seas on previous voyages on smaller ships. On this ship many of us felt the engine vibrations strongly, causing nausea and anxiety for much of the cruise. I am very puzzled as to why this unpleasant feeling occurred but it was a common complaint among passengers so I was not alone. The seas were very calm so did not expect to feel sick. Came back several kilos lighter, so something positive, anyway. Can anyone explain why these unpleasant vibrations were felt? Mainly in the buffet and dining room but also in the theatre. Now for the rest...the good and the annoying..... The crew were all fantastic! They go out of their way to make you feel special and I cannot fault anyone on this cruise. They work so hard. The Halloween pumpkin display was superb and the crew enjoyed dressing up for the event. The Filipino crew members in particular are so friendly and cheerful and always say hi to you. The cruise director, a nice Canadian fellow, was very good. Embarkation and disembarkation were very quick and smooth...thanks to all the cheerful staff at the Overseas Passenger Terminal. The food was quite good and if you did not like a meal it was quickly and efficiently replaced with another of your choice. How can you complain about it? The head waiter, Larry, went out of his way to find us seating where that unpleasant vibration was less obvious, too. It didn't help much, though, and I ate very little. The crew deserve a Certificate 3 in Aged care as they are fantastic with the hundreds of frail, palliative and very elderly people on board. They even had a hoist to gently transfer them into the Hollywood Pool. I though this was amazing. The most annoying things? Idiotic passengers cramming themselves into already packed lifts instead of waiting for a less crowded one. There was no air coming into the lifts and if they broke down we would all suffocate. And unpleasantly, too, as some passengers do not wash or brush teeth. The other gripe? No room to see a show. We always got there at least an hour before the show began but no luck! People must just claim a seat and sit there for hours! Inconceivable to us! Same in the piazza. There must be a lot of folk with pressure sores on their tails from sitting in the same spot all day. To sum up...I could not travel on this ship again because of the weird, sick - making vibrations. My husband said he hated the ship as it was too big and nearly everyone we spoke to said it would be their last time on this ship for the same reason...no promenade deck, weird buffet setup, not enough seating etc made this a first and last for us and many others, sadly. We liked it so much that we went there everyday. The cabins are wide and near providing a fresh feel. The bed matteress and pillow is very comfortable and felt new. The tv was great as it was big in size and the selection of movies on demand was great. Being all free was also a bonus. The food in the dining room and buffet was in an abundance and god quality. I did not chose this cruise but went with a relative due to the cruise leaving from Australia. I had never been to the South Pacific before, so it was a new area of travel. Embarkation and disembarkation were relatively easy and well organised. This ship is lovely and clean and the cabin stewards are extremely helpful and friendly. Our disabled cabin was large and easily accessible for disabled. The Dining is typical of Princess, 3 star and basic unless you want to pay for the exclusive restaurants, which I heard were not that good anyway. Entertainment and activities are minimal that didn't include activites with a sales pitch, art auction, jewellry events etc. The Spa looked inviting but really expensive. Trivia, comedians, movies and shows are the same as per usual. Food and food service was good until the last 3 days, when the service dropped and the food felt like leftovers and minimal choice. Shore excursions you either purchase through the ship, or just hop off the boat for a wider variety for private tours that support the locals. Read Less

You start with a cocktail of your choice and appetisers, bread, followed by a further four courses and champagne cost $125...so worth it. Production shows excellent, headliners mostly a hit, a couple of misses. Overall we had a wonderful time. The water shuttles if you’re in a hurry to get off can be a bit of a wait. The lovely cabin was the highlight of this ship. The Majestic Princess is certainly large! A cross between a Westfield shopping mall and a casino. Quite difficult to navigate as most of the large open areas have no markings as to what direction is the front of the ship. They run red carpet on the starboard side and blue on the port side in the cabin hallways, common sense was obviously not used in this design decision. All of the (non-automatic) doors in the public areas are not marked with pull or push markings confusing many passengers. The entertainment and shows were great. The princess theatre was usually packed out at least 15 minutes before each show. They would simulcast the shows to princess live which is set up like a large TV studio but has the speakers overhead and a low ceiling so the sound quality is awful. They tend to cram the shows to conflict with the dining hours and they generally do not run matinee sessions which would be more appropriate on sea days. The design of this ship makes it very difficult to walk around the outside. There is no promenade deck you can do laps of and they deliberately close off areas to make it more difficult. The forward sections of deck 7 are cordoned off as crew only and the deck comes to a dead-end at the back of both sides of the ship. You can walk around the top when they do not block off the stairs due to "high winds" which they even did in light to moderate wind conditions. Being a large ship the tender transfers were generally well organised but the some of the tender crews appeared quite inexperienced. This was our second cruise with Princess and we prefered the smaller Crown Princess. Read Less

With only a day and one-half to explore Sydney, we only captured a small glimpse of this charming city. Both embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly and very quickly for us. Our balcony cabin was roomy and nicely decorated. Cabin steward was excellent. Being as it was at the front part of the ship, anywhere between 4,000 and nearly 6,000 steps were done daily. With so many guests, I worried about elevator wait times, but there was rarely much wait times. We were disappointed with food preparation. Chicken was consistently tough, and other meats overcooked and dry. Wait times for mains were extraordinarily long most evenings in the dinning room, and I found the Buffet confusing. For instance, all the cold cereals were in an entirely different place to the hot. Most of the entertainment was top notch with the notable exception of two or three. Also disappointed with one guest services' staffer whosexEnglish skills were so bad, neither of us could understand each other. Why would the ship put someone like that in that position? Excursions desk seemed able only to sell the excursions, but in some cases knew nothing about them. When I asked who might know more about a particular excursion marked 'strenuous', I was told I could see a picture, as if that would tell me what I needed to know Ports were interesting. The one excursion we did purchase from the ship was a hop, on/hop off bus tour in Noumea. It was very well organized and the best deal on offer. We found all offers to be cost prohibitive. Read Less

We had some issues with Majestic Princess which we have never encountered before with the other Princess ships. - The internet was "so slow". Guests were complaining. We complain to the Internet Manager however, he didn't help us at all. - **** If you add up all the items on your stateroom bill you will notice it much less than shown on the bill. So be careful, add up your stateroom bill before leaving. We were overcharged by $34 which was taken off when we complained. **** - Hollywood Pool Area, the pool was warm however, the air was so cold. - Our balcony patio outdoor windows were not cleaned (build up of salt on them). The railing was also not cleaned. - Breakfast Buffet, the hot items (i.e., eggs, bacon, toast and egg muffin), were cold. The toast was the worst of them all (cold). Beside the above noted issues, we still enjoyed our trip. The staff made it up with there excellent service and friendliness. Read Less

First cruise on this ship. Internals similar to Sun and Sea Princess but bigger. Takes a while to get from one end to the other, apparently has 3500 passengers in Australia but up to 4500 whilst overseas. This probably explains why ship did not feel busy ( except of course in Princess Theatre-as per usual for Princess Cruises). Being set up for overseas it had things that Princess once had in Australian ships.eg free soft cone ice creams, full cream ice cream at Bistro ( or Marketplace as they call it), pizza's free but with other items, free noodle bar, free hamburgers etc. Alcohol is expensive as no Australian $6 beers ( they were $8.50) no $9 glass of wine ( they were $14 up) compared to P&O. Duty free prices on board for alcohol was still twice the price in Port Vila. Princess Theatre had an extra escape route to level 6 which meant could exit with no problems as compared with Sun and Sea. Dancing and singing group larger then usual and put on great shows with effects, however, I am sure they were the second rate singers on board. Other shows were hit and miss, some great and others well so so. Always great to have a band playing not pre recorded music as on P&O etc. Entertainment crew boss Andrew was very good and deputy Cristiaan was excellent, other were ..so so. Stores only sold expensive rubbish, nothing worth buying. International café free was good, coffee on board was boring no real taste. But coffee cards loaded onto cruise card were good value. Cannot walk around ship on one level as on Sun and Sea, but plenty of room upstairs to move. Gym was excellent full of equipment and 24 hour access. Marketplace (Bistro) was excellent and plenty of variety, no need to go to restaurants. Only problem was finding what you need as so big, things scattered, but plenty of seating and quality and variety very good. Trivia prizes crap which maybe good as to reduce trivia rage.... Rooms were good, better insulation in walls, larger TV with movies etc on demand free. No gratuities charged to Australians. Elite members looked after with extra afternoon snacks and cheaper cocktails. Read Less

Hi. guys How r u! I will tell you some words which i felt and my first impressions from majestic princess on18th September to first of November with my good friends. so sorry my poor English but i will tell you the facts which i felt my experience and uncomfortable things use simple words. The food was not fresh, the cabin is very smaller than i expected and internet speed was horrible and activities not enough. many times were toilets blocked and no toilets papers. People were so crowded can't find seat during breakfast and lunch time moreover the buffet foods were everyday same manu and some vegetable especially cabbage and pumpkin were almost gone. Moreover, the free coffee's quality was so bad indeed. However there crews were so friendly and politely anytime the shows which princess theater was pretty good. Before i take on board we expected high quality of service this ship but some parts and should be up date for next guests thanks Read Less

Chose this cruise because of the many ports to visit. The magnificent 'Majestic Princess' as Captain Sagani calls her and he is right. Everywhere you looked there were beautiful paintings, sculptures and decor. Our deluxe balcony stateroom was great, we enjoyed a drink on the balcony on most evenings watching the sunset before heading to one of the many bars for a drink before dinner. Anytime dining worked well for us, we had no problems getting a table in the dining room, the pizzeria or the marketplace buffet area. All meals were good and enjoyed having an option of where to eat each night. There was plenty of room for the 3500 passengers in bars and on deck, really enjoyed the Hollywood pool area. Tender service to shore was ok but a little slow at times but loved all the ports we visited, we enjoyed the two excursions we booked which were well organised. Some bar and wait staff were not as nice and friendly as others but the activities staff were great and very entertaining. As the passengers were much older than expected we learnt to be patient with all the walking frames, walking sticks and wheelchairs, some of the oldies were quite rude unfortunately. Overall we had a fabulous time and will look forward to going on this ship again. Read Less
