Holland America used to have a very good reputation but since Carnival bought the cruise line forget it. It is a typical Carnival owned cruise line, mediocre at best. Ship could use some big time updating. Bathrooms were ancient. Plumbing issue on first morning (early) caused flooding of cabin. Maintenance came and asked us to leave the room while they made repairs. Water spilt over from the bathroom into the cabin, soaking the carpeting. We quickly got dressed to go to breakfast. This ship should be taken out of service for a maajor overhaul. Bathroom tiles were mildew stained. Vinyl on restaurant booths were torn Dining tables had cracks in Formica that collected dirt. Line cooks were nice unless you had a request then they were snippy. Buffet often closed early or opened late. Food variety was good and it looked great but was bland. Bar service was spotty. ...
