Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

This was my second cruise on this particular ship. It wasn't great the first time but because I went with family members who'd already booked and because I was so looking forward to doing the 12-night Southern Caribbean cruise I came in with high hopes. But where do I start... ? there are some serious issues with this ship, seemingly related to RC's cost cutting decisions. The food was ...

We had a great time. The crew was excellent and the food was great. People were polite and friendly. We will cruise again in 2017 pn the Grandeur of the Seas. We have been to Bermuda before and really enjoyed it. It is a beautiful island and the people are wonderful.Being on the grandeur of the seas is just a great vacation even if you just stay on the boat and enjoy the many activities that ...

I've gone on more cruises than I can count, and on many different lines. I chose this because it is one of only two that sail out of Baltimore, where family members live. I found the cruise adequate for my purposes, that is, to give my grandchildren a fun experience. We went on Carnival last time and they liked it better (I didn't). But Carnival has a better experience for children. My ...

We chose this cruise for some time with our grandchildren and children. The grandkids spent time at the pool, rock climbing wall and playing shuffleboard. We dined at Chops specialty restaurant and the buffet as well as the dining room. We noticed the lack of service in the buffet. You now have to get your own drinks and refills. Tables were not cleared quickly due to not enough staff. The ...

Never Again on the Grandeur of the Seas

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

We booked this cruise for the itinerary and sailing date as it was the only option that worked for our entire sailing party. The Port: (We heard eventually that the ship was late returning to port that morning, so our prolonged check in experience was likely not the norm for the port.) We pulled into the lot at 11 am and were directed into a long car line to drop off our bags, then were ...

Royal Caribbean - Grandeur of the Seas - June 2016

This cruise was a booking as part of a larger group booking with families of 25 teenage girls that had a chance to dance on the ship through their local dance company. This is why it was chosen, with the idea in mind that Bermuda is a relatively crime free island and a place where we felt comfortable to take such a large group overall. This was my 4th cruise with Royal Caribbean and fell within ...

Is Royal Caribbean cutting too many corners?

We booked the cruise for my son's family (including 2 grand kids) because Baltimore was convenient, and the itinerary was good. Food was acceptable in the dining room, but the buffet food was poor quality. Entertainment was spotty, and drinks were ridiculously expensive. We decided not to drink. A bright spot was the kids activities. Always something for our grand kids to do, and they had a ...

Misadventures on the High Seas

This was my 2nd experience on Grandeur of the Seas. My first cruise in 2013 was WONDERFUL! Excellent customer service on every level. From stateroom attendant (loved Ida Ashley) to each porter. To say this cruise was different would be an understatement. Part 1 I travelled with 16 family members and friends. My sister is handicapped, in a wheel chair and the 1st issue surfaced before we ...

Grandeur of the Seas Very Disappointing

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

My husband booked this cruise as a birthday treat for me, and even splashed out and booked a suite to make it extra special. We had sailed on the Grandeur some years earlier and enjoyed it, so we had no qualms in booking this for a "special" holiday. Sadly this trip was very different and disappointing. Our first hiccup, after embarking at Baltimore, was a note in our cabin advising ...

Not-so-grand Grandeur of the Seas hurts the RCI brand.

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

I have cruised with Oceana and Carnival in the past, and although I did not expect an "Oceana experience" from RCI, I did anticipate an experience similar to (or better than) Carnival. Unfortunately, RCI underwhelmed at nearly every opportunity. The food was consistently disappointing, with sub-par meal quality served up in every complimentary eatery. All "steaks" are camouflaged with butter or ...
