As I said in my title, you get what you pay for. The ship is getting on and looks a little faded in parts. The food is nowhere the level you would otherwise expect on a cruise. Done it before twice and as it fitted in with our plans we decided to do it again.experienced many bad issues whilst onboard,all of them reported to the head of the relevant department but on almost every occasion the issues were not addressed which bothered us greatly to the point were we thought we would leave it until we returned home and then report it to p&o directly but to no avail.

We chose this cruise because it fitted in with our diary and golden wedding celebration.
All previous cruises we have had an outside cabin but this time we decided to try an inside and we were not disappointed. The size is quite comparable to the ordinary outside staterooms and as we spend very little time in the cabin (awake) we didn't miss the windows/balcony either.

This was our first cruise and a bit of a special occasion for ourselves but where do I start!
Toilets constantly not working and this was due to the system unable to cope not blockages as staff tried to infer. This was not just our cabin but everywhere on the ship.
Leaks springing up everywhere, through walls, ceilings and blow dryers constantly in use throughout the ship.

Clodia has already given a balanced an accurate review of this cruise so I will not go into so much detail. I would just further add that Captain Camby was superb, the staff were excellent,Benny the Entertainments Manager was exceptional, our cabin steward Leviston was simply brilliant.

The cruise was pretty good overall despite having some adverse weather on both outbound and inbound journeys. However the ship seems to handle the swell pretty good.
Sadly the ship is showing signs of age and a constant sewage smell was evident around certain areas of the ship.

Having read most of the reviews of the Britannia, we were a little concerned about what would be in store for us, have spent over £3K just on the booking. This would be our fourth cruise, having previously sailed with; Cunard/QE2, Thomson/Celebration, and Celebrity/Solstice.

We are mid 50s husband and wife and have cruised for nearly 20 years more than 20 times. We have been with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, P&O, Cunard, Ocean Village, Regent, Holland America and NCL. (P&O three times now - most sailings with Celebrity/RCI).

Very disappointed to see our cruise came down by 50% a few weeks before. This is the second time this has happened to us. My advice would be to not book early with P&O. Our cabin was situated mid ship, there was no access to any stairs so even if you wanted to go up or down one flight of stairs you had to wait on a lift.
