Run, run as fast as you can! The service on this ship was pathetic at best. The staff tried as hard as they could. However, I also think the lack of a proper number of staff causes burnout and permeates an "I don't care" attitude. The destination team did not provide the services advertised for Silver Cove, and the overall cruise was not worth the money. There are better experiences for the cost ...
Oceania Sirena - Miami to Panama City - March 7-17 2024
This was my third cruise with Oceania. The first was the Eastern Mediterranean in 2009, the second was Northern Europe in 2012. I really enjoyed those two cruises; this one, not so much. Based on my experiences on this cruise, it's unlikely I will take a 4th cruise with Oceania.
Let's start with the good. The food was excellent. I did ...
Skipped our favorite port ( St Barts ) and one other. Second time this has happened to us with Oceania, and definitely the last. Problems with our suite - too cool day one ( replace units in ceiling ) too hot day two ( replaced units again). Not working day 3 - finally got a capable mechanic who took about 15 seconds to fix the problems. Noise above our heads ( dining area that is NOT open at ...
We chose the cruise as it was goiing to interesting different ports of call. The first one was Costa Maya, where we were unable to dock and understand that happens frequently. also heard that actually its very scruffy there. Other ports of call varied. We had an excellent excursion from Guatamala with brilliant guide and included high speed boat trip up the New River. The Tabyana beach day, ...
In January we completed our 21st cruise a 10-day Caribbean cruise was on Vista, Oceania’s newest ship. We were in a B2 balcony stateroom. My wife and I are 77 years old. It was our fourth cruise on Oceania - one on Regatta, one on Insignia, one on Marina and this one on Vista. We also have cruised on many other lines.
First for the positives:
- The stateroom and bath were fantastic. Lots of ...
My wife and I are very disappointed by the continue poor service across the ship. A significant portion of the staff don't care or acknowledge you when asking a question. I was shocked. Also, this cruise has no one under 65 years old. Also this new ship, Vista, pollutes terribly with black smoke from the engines. Surprise for a new ship. Food is good, not great. Ship is not structured well, ...
(This is the same review I gave directly to the front dest while on board. We have had zero response.)
It is extremely hard to believe this ship is a new build in 2023. The movement of the ship once it left the port of Miami was intense as it was each time the ship was moving. The noise in the aft concierge cabin -- sounding much like a washing machine -- was constant for the first two days AND ...
Going on a Panama Canal cruise from Miami to Lima Peru was on our bucket list. The itinerary was terrific. The boat is old and needs renovation to to bottom. Unfortunately, we are on this tub again in June from Lisbon to Oslo for 23 days. The scheduled renovations will only touch the Penthouses and common areas, not the balcony staterooms. We were lied to about this from several sources onboard. ...
Ah, the joys of cruising - where the seas are salty, and the passengers, well, are seasoned. This particular floating adventure, which I affectionately dubbed "A Floating Nursing Home," was an experience that could make even the most patient person reconsider their life choices.
We usually prefer the opulence of Seaborn cruises, but due to some cosmic misalignment of schedules, we found ...
My sister and I chose this cruise line because we heard so many positive things about it and we liked the Itinerary. We have both cruised with other cruise lines and we heard that Oceania is a step above all these with a higher end service and food. We didn't realize that with a smaller ship you get less entertainment and also less choices for things to do during the day. The people that travel ...
