My sister and I chose this cruise line because we heard so many positive things about it and we liked the Itinerary. We have both cruised with other cruise lines and we heard that Oceania is a step above all these with a higher end service and food. We didn't realize that with a smaller ship you get less entertainment and also less choices for things to do during the day. The people that travel with Oceania are older and choose the smaller ships because they are easier to access and get around. The food on the ship is good but not of the caliber that we expected after paying a more expensive cost. We expected more seafood to be part of the choices. The size of the portions was very small and that could be because they are catering to an older generation but with seafood they could be more generous.

The people in Destination Services were no help to us whatsoever. They were only interested in selling the Shore Excursions that were severely overprices for what you experienced. The information that they supplied for ports was nonexistent. In previous cruises we were given maps of the ports that we were entering so we could have an idea of where different stores and churches were located. On this cruise we found ourselves in very questionable parts of town where we felt unsafe and alone.

We had the beverage package included as a bonus but this proved to be very frustrating as you could only have a drink when the dining rooms were open. That was very small print because we didn't see that at all. We could've upgraded for $30 US a day each but that was like giving you a perk and then taking it away...............very disappointing.

Concierge Level Veranda Stateroom

Our consierge veranda suite was very nice and we received great care from our room steward. The bathroom is a little tight but we managed quite well. The bed was comfortable and bedding very nice with the exception of the very thin lap quilt.
