We booked a long and fun transatlantic. The ports were on our bucket list (Ibiza, Azores, Madeira) and the timing was right. My friend Jim and I enjoyed the Epic's December Transatlantic voyage from Lisbon to Manhattan. Here are some of my thoughts:

We stayed at a terrific, boutique 22-room hotel in Lisbon called the Sao Vicente Alfama before embarking;

As I said, we particularly like cruises with time at sea. Also, I have always wanted to go to Spain, so this was a perfect combination for us. Additionally, The Haven (for us) is worth the additional cost. It's like being on a small ship if you choose to stay in that area, but if you want to enjoy the entertainment that's available on a large ship, you can do that.

Just got back from the TA cruise to Barcelona. We cruised with Norwegian 3 times before, but first time on Transatlantic. Despite many negative reviews on Epic I have to say everything was almost perfect and exceeded our expectation.
