First NCL cruise; I was a little disappointed
"Instead of a view of the ship's wake Spice H2O has a giant TV screen (washed out in the daytime) blocking the view.A third were completely broken, and another third had sticking or non-functioning buttons (you could still touch the screen, but this increases the chance of mistakes)...."Read More

First NCL cruise; I was a little disappointed

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

I just took my first NCL cruise, April 20 to May 6 Breakaway transatlantic and was a little disappointed when comparing it to Princess or Celebrity. I took a transatlantic on each of them last year, and they were overall just much better. BUT, before I get into things I didn't like, I'll describe what I did like. 1. I paid a low price with no single supplement. It was the same on Princess and ...

Embarkation: Staff in NYC were friendly and efficient. We were in our room on the ship at 11AM (although the ship had been empty for 3 days). Getting off: No information available on transport to city, to train station or to airport--unless booked through Norwegian. There is a “SitBus” that runs from terminal to Rome, but we couldn’t find out where to find it. There is a Port to train ...

Great cruise itinerary, just bad weather

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

This was the second part of our back to back cruise holiday, after doing a nine day Baltic cruise, unfortunately the bad weather continued. Tropical storm Leslie hung around the North Atlantic for over a month, with 40 knot winds and 3 to 5 metre swells making life on board uncomfortable on most days. We did make all of our ports on this cruise and we enjoyed good weather while in each of the ...

Copenhagen, Southampton, Cork, and Ponta Delgada Are Memorable

We chose this cruise based on the ports on the itinerary of this Transatlantic cruise. The only port which proved to be less than desirable was Gothenburg, Sweden. There just wasn’t much to see or do. The embarkation port of Copenhagen and the destination ports of Southampton, Cork, and Ponta Delgada were extremely enjoyable. Hamlet Tours in Copenhagen has a wonderful full day tour of ...

This was the cruise for us!! Four stops in a transatlantic package!! Ideal! It was our first experience on a larger ship and it was a worthwhile experience. The facilities were luxurious and the ropes course was sprine tingling! Our cabin was perfect for us, not fancy but it had everything we needed including a surprising amount of storage space and the entertainment was outstanding! Totally ...

We chose this transatlantic cruise mainly because of the ports offered. When we booked, Amsterdam was to be the first stop from Copenhagen. This was changed to Gothenburg, Sweden....very disappointing, but all the other ports remained the same. First the pros of this mega ship: Balcony cabin storage was plentiful Angle balcony was larger than others but due to wind and weather, we only ...

Repositioning Copenhagen to NYC So So Experience

Actually it was a YMT offer which they selected NCL not us. However, we chose it for combination of reasons: time of year, price, a cruise with bus trip in U.S. and ports of call were of interest. We were a little disappointed port changed from Amsterdam to Gothenburg but it was a lovely city and we enjoyed ourselves. Let me start with we have cruised 3x before so have a comparison, first time ...

Lovely Crossing

We choose this cruise because it was a good vacation buy and an easy way to get to Europe. Our stateroom was very nice.t Was on the 12th floor and had a balcony. We did not think we would use the balcony as much we did. Our stateroom attendant was very attentive to our needs. The ship was going in for dry dock following our cruise and definitely needed it, as the carpeting and other things ...

A relaxing and economical means of transportation to England and Ireland where we stayed for two weeks after the cruise. The food at the buffet was typical but we ate twice each at the French and Italian specialty dining and twice at the Irish pub and all were excellent. Service was consistently good throughout all venues and the Burn the Floor dancers were absolutely superb. One huge ...

Two people really stood out on our cruise to London this April. Ricson Fernandes in Cagney's was the best most attentive person on the ship. Even though we were staying in the Haven, we went to Cagney's 4 times just for Mr. Fernandes service. The steward and butler in the Haven were great. The service was timely with great attention to detail. Small detail. We asked for heavy cream in the frig ...
