Embarkation: Staff in NYC were friendly and efficient. We were in our room on the ship at 11AM (although the ship had been empty for 3 days).

Getting off: No information available on transport to city, to train station or to airport--unless booked through Norwegian. There is a “SitBus” that runs from terminal to Rome, but we couldn’t find out where to find it. There is a Port to train station bus that we were lucky to find at the end of a long line of other buses.

Dining: The Garden Cafe had some of the friendliest staff that we have encountered on a cruise ship. The food was usually better than in the main dining rooms. Main dining rooms had good choices. The waiters often seemed overworked and stressed. It took three tries and dining rooms before finding a good waiter in Savor--we were able to request him on subsequent visits. Specialty dining was 2 or 3 steps above main dining rooms as far as service and food.
