This was my tenth or eleventh cruise. It was wonderful. It was a short cruise, 5 days, so we extended the vacation a bit by staying at the nearby Marriott the night before. Embarkation was well organized and the room was available right away. We were on the Verandah Deck (8) very close to the forward stairs, which we found to be a surprisingly quiet location. The stateroom was immaculate and ...

Great 1st Cruise

We really enjoyed ourselves on this cruise. I would say the staff made the trip. First our Cruise Director was Kevin. He kept it light, and fun. Basically he had a great sense of humor and could take it as well as give it. Second we encountered Christine who was a fun, irreverent, and sometimes x-rated piano player at the piano bar. Her entertainment is not family oriented. But that's why we liked ...

First Carnival Cruise

This is our 6th cruise, first on Carnival. It was a difficult decision to go with Carnival, the upside is we recently moved to Suffolk VA and it was a very convenient cab ride to Norfolk. We had a Grand Suite which was huge as was the bathroom. The down side was that the interior was very tired and the carpet very stained. They were no extra amenities in the Grand Suites. The one perk was ...

First Time Carnival Cruiser; Hooked!

Okay, I'll admit it. I've been a cruise snob for over 30 years and always considered Celebrity my mid level cruise line favorite (until lately). Tried Norwegian a few times but last one was just "meh". Last cruise on RCCL was also okay but again nothing special. Too much cutting back. After reading so many good things about Carnival on the CC boards we decided to dive in. The port of ...

Never bored.

I had a great time. Pros: Great Cruise Director and Assistant Cruise Director. They worked well together and really created a "fun" atmosphere. Room with balcony. The room had outdated decor, but I loved the balcony. The shower had great water pressure. I wear earplugs at night, so I did not notice any noise issues. Variety of activities. It is impossible to be bored on this ship. There is ...

Our first cruise

We only had a few complaints on this cruise, so I will mention them first. The room service is VERY slow! We never waited less than an hour- usually closer to an hour and a half. The first night, when I was a little sea sick, I ordered room service for my kids for dinner. It took almost 2 hours to get to us. Also, our refrigerator was locked the entire 5 days. I'm glad we didn't need it. We had to ...

Since this was the last trip out of Norfolk, for reasons known only to the four cruise lines who have pulled out ( despite a well paid cruise director who resigned last month; I heard it was the high price of fuel..I guess fuel is much cheaper in Miami... and environmental regulations.), we decided to take the Carnival Glory and took our two teens. We sailed on a Carnival ship ten years ago. Some ...

We just returned from a five day cruise on the Carnival Glory. Norfolk (last Carnival cruise for Norfolk...such a shame!) to the Bahamas. We have cruised a few times before on another line. Friends invited us to come along, and you just can't beat these Carnival prices. We wanted to see what Carnival was like compared to Holland America line. If you are a frequent cruiser, you are probably ...

My wife and i went with her graduating class to celebrate a high school reunion from the 80's and we had a really good time. Pleasantly surprised with the cabin space although i tried to upgrade my stateroom (willing to pay), but at the mere mention of an upgrade, the customer service counter rep enthusiastically shouted "the ship is completely booked". Mind you that at the security check in i was ...

Traveled with my husband, father, and step mother! Embarkation was a breeze. Lines moved quickly! Our room was clean and our steward, Rudy, was GREAT! Our wait staff in the dining room was also GREAT: Vane, Alex and Gavin!!!! We had a booth just for our party of 4. We could order as many starters, entrees, desserts as we wanted. The food was ok most nights but formal night it was GREAT! The ...
