1-10 of 12 New York (Manhattan) Cunard Queen Victoria Cruise Reviews
I only have a few observations:
Overall, the staff was genial and helpful
My room steward was excellent, well trained and responsive.
Bar service in the Chartroom was expert, cheerful and well trained; they ran out of my preferred brand. The competence of the Wine Waiters in Britannia was very uneven; some were excellent and others needed more training.I also perceived a shortage of ...
This was my third Cunard cruise, and as enjoyable as the others.
I was happy to board 'Queen Victoria' and rest after days of walking around New York. Embarkation was very smooth and fast. Within 5 minutes of arriving at pier 90 I was on the ship. It was a lovely clear day as we slipped out of Manhattan. What a lovely way to enjoy the impressive skyline! And then we reached the ...
What should have been the cruise to beat all others turned into a nightmare as Cunard lost my luggage at the port.
The cruise should have been memorable for the lovely cabin and facilities. Unfortunately my main memory will always be the lack of customer care by Cunard, which has been compounded since my return.
The speakers were very good as was the afternoon tea service. I was also ...
We sailed on Queen Victoria on her final leg of the 2015 world tour…NYC to South Hampton. This was our first Cunard cruise, though we have completed about 19 other cruises, mostly on Celebrity.
There were aspects about Cunard and the QV that we really liked and other aspects where we prefer Celebrity.
On the plus side:
We like the subdued atmosphere on the QV. In addition to be a ...
This review is for the last leg of the world cruise, New York to Southampton, 8 nights. I have sailed twice on Queen Mary 2 doing westbound transatlantics, this time the timing on QV fit my schedule better.
Overall summary I loved the ship and the experience on QV. My balcony stateroom was perfect, and as described on the Cunard website. thanks to new matresses during the refit, the bed was ...
The Queen Victoria is the smaller version of Cunard style than the Queen Mary 2. The ship is simpler in design. The public rooms on deck two and three are located on one corridor that runs the length of the ship. Most of these bars and entertainment venues are open to the hall making them less private.
The food was mediocre. The food in Britannia is "dumbed down." The portions are now nouvelle ...
Great cruise on the QV from New York to San Francisco.
PROS:
- Fast embarkation in New York, since times were staggered and many had boarded in Southampton
- Very comfortable, quiet, well furnished cabin with king bed, love seat and 3 closets on Deck 4. Had outside obstructed view cabin. View was only partially blocked by a lifeboat, and was definitely worth the small extra amount of ...
Nine inches of Snow - New York, January 2011, joined the Queen Victoria at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal, alongside us The new Queen Elizabeth. Embarkation was a fiasco, the agency handling it for Cunard had a total computer breakdown for about an hour! Our first time on the ship although we had done the Queen Mary 2 (just amazing) and the bless her 'QE2'.
Went to our lovely Princess Grill ...
The lure of witnessing the 3 Queens (Victoria, Mary2 and Elizabeth) together in New York was sufficient to convince us to leave the hot (albeit flooded) Australian summer for a New York winter. The snow gods were kind enough to open JFK just for one day (closed either side) to enable us to end our 25 hour flight from South Australia.
Sadly, boarding at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal was a ...

EMBARKATION:
DW ("Dear Wife") and I embarked, on the frigid afternoon of January 12, on the New York to San Francisco segment of the Queen Victoria's 2010 World Cruise. As we live but a few blocks from her Manhattan berth, our transit consisted merely of a five minute taxi ride, a momentary wait in the "V.I.P" lounge and then straight aboard in time ...
