1-9 of 9 MSC Splendida Cruise Reviews for Family to Europe - Eastern Mediterranean
I'm not including ports of call here, as this is long enough and I haven't written them up yet. The ports were Corfu, Bari, Trieste (we went to Ljubljana), and Kusadasi (we went to Ephesus).
Customization:
The Yacht Club emails passengers to give you advance options for three things: the pillows, the newspaper, and the bottle of liquor in the room. Here are the options. Pillows: down, ...
The very first reason I chose MSC Splendida was because it was departing the city I lived İstanbul. I did the trip in a balcony cabin with my wife and 2 daughters (6-9 years) and would like to write my observations briefly from this 8-night trip.
* Cabin was big enough for our family and the service was very good in the room.
* Dining in the open buffet was a little crushed during the ...
First cruise with MSC and specifically chose it to try the Yacht Club. We were not disappointed and really enjoyed the experience and perks associated with this class.
The main thing to point out and this is something everyone says but it's true, is the crew are amazing. Every single one of them work incredibly hard and always have a smile and a friendly greeting no matter how busy they are. ...
We are just back from our week on MSC Splendida. In spite of being winter, we loved it and had a lovely time.
The ship is huge and its beautiful and it shines from its cleanliness, we’ve been already in Poesia and Fantasia.
Loving the food, we don’t eat that much and we manage to “stay fit” just walking around the ship.
We had our breakfasts on the buffet and went twice to breakfast in ...
Ship very clean and modern, entertainment very good, room service good, evening dining service good.
The ship does have some quirks to it. The ship doesn't want you to take a drink that might be half full and bring it to another bar. You are forced to leave at the current bar or drink it down and reorder at the next one. Not a big deal if you are on the drink package like we were. Highly ...
The Splendida was a beautiful ship when we got on we was really impressed.. But don't go on for the food it was horrible. I ate a lot of bread and water.. We didn't try the Tex Mex we was afraid of paying for the same food.. The sports bar only opens at night. The smoking was awful in the casino too... The people working in the tour office was not very informative either. And we had pre booked 3 ...
Read all the reviews before going and bad service+food was almost universal in them. However these I found were totally unfounded. At Venice the embarkation was rather chaotic but relatively speedy with helpful ground staff, most could speak good english. Upon entering the ship I was impressed by the decor+furnishings, interior appearance etc... (BTW, travelling with 2 children)
Service:
The ...
I booked this cruise for two reasons: because it was going to Alexandria (with the opportunity to visit the Pyramids)and because there was no single supplement. The BA flight from Heathrow got us to Milan in under two hours, but the coach journey from Malpensa airport to Genoa took about two and three-quarter hours. We even had to queue at the port to get off. I had checked in online, so followed ...
We are not avid cruisers, but will cruise if itinerary and price are compelling, which was the case with the MSC Splendida booked online ($699 for a balcony cabin for 7 nights). We had been to the Mediterranean before (20 years ago on Holland America), but this cruise left from Barcelona and went to Tunis, Malta, Sicily, Rome, Genoa and Marseille. Since we had been to Rome for a week a few years ...
