1-10 of 36 MSC Splendida Cruise Reviews for Cruises for the Disabled Cruises to Europe - Eastern Mediterranean
We are just back from our week on MSC Splendida. In spite of being winter, we loved it and had a lovely time.
The ship is huge and its beautiful and it shines from its cleanliness, we’ve been already in Poesia and Fantasia.
Loving the food, we don’t eat that much and we manage to “stay fit” just walking around the ship.
We had our breakfasts on the buffet and went twice to breakfast in ...
The best thing about MSC Splendida is the crystal staircases in the main atrium.
Otherwise, in my opinion, corporate policy for this cruise line needs a serious overhaul. The ship seems poorly managed and directives from the top down appear to be missing. Most of the young people working on board try to do the job cheerfully, but proper training appears to be lacking, or training looks as if ...
This was our first cruise experience - £599 including flights for 7 nights flying from Gatwick for a cabin with balcony.
Long delay with British Airways but once we arrived at Genoa all went smoothly
The ship is HUGE and orientating yourself about the ship isn't easy
It is however spotlessly clean and staff are continually cleaning - day and night
The food was disappointing - Luke warm and a ...
Ship very clean and modern, entertainment very good, room service good, evening dining service good.
The ship does have some quirks to it. The ship doesn't want you to take a drink that might be half full and bring it to another bar. You are forced to leave at the current bar or drink it down and reorder at the next one. Not a big deal if you are on the drink package like we were. Highly ...
The Splendida was a beautiful ship when we got on we was really impressed.. But don't go on for the food it was horrible. I ate a lot of bread and water.. We didn't try the Tex Mex we was afraid of paying for the same food.. The sports bar only opens at night. The smoking was awful in the casino too... The people working in the tour office was not very informative either. And we had pre booked 3 ...
We had done a cruise with Holland America last year this time since it was December and options were limited we went with MSC
Ship Speledida lives up to its name its absolutely "Splendid"
The activities in comparison were very limited 1 activity at each hour no choices
The Service left a lot to be desired as the Italian staff were always walking with swollen faces
The cabin was fantastic ...
The ship is really nice and the cabin a very good size. The ship is really clean and the staff in the bars are very nice. The staff in the bora bora are only table cleaners. They don't speak to the guest or help anyone. The bora bora at breakfast time was like feeding time at the zoo. In the evenings it was a little better but the food was always cold. In 7 days we only got one meal that was any ...
Read all the reviews before going and bad service+food was almost universal in them. However these I found were totally unfounded. At Venice the embarkation was rather chaotic but relatively speedy with helpful ground staff, most could speak good english. Upon entering the ship I was impressed by the decor+furnishings, interior appearance etc... (BTW, travelling with 2 children)
Service:

The negatives -
MSC does not care about you in any way once you get on the boat. All they want is to turn you upside down and shake as much cash as they can out of you. They are only short of wearing masks and holding you at gun point to extract cash.
Everything is plus 15% on top of the overpriced items.
Tours are the biggest rip off, you can do all the tours locally for a fraction ...
