The Ship was Tired. The windows were either dirty and had not cleaned in a while or the plain were in need of replacement. The seals were clearly gone in the double pained windows and we watched water "sloshing" in one window as the Ship rocked. Elevator lights did not function and this was common.
Stateroom: Balcony door was difficult to open and handle was extremely lose. Dust bunnies ...
Went through Panama canal from Miami to San Diego. Great trip with several stops. Great shopping in guatemala and very friendly people. Going through canal canal tour was not worth money because you go through canal so unnecessary unless you want history. Colon is horrible to get through and very depressed area. Loved all our waiters and cabin steward on ship. Weather was wonderful hot and ...
My husband and I have been cruising with Royal Caribbean for years. We love the cruise line and have always had a good experience. It was my bucket list item to go on a Panama Canal Cruise. We usually take about one cruise per year but had never gone for more than one week. The Panama Canal cruises usually run 15-16 nights. We decided NOT to wait until after we retired!.
We went on the Jewel ...
We selected this cruise since we have always wanted to see the canal. We decided this time of the year to get away from cold and snow in Kansas and to give my wife a break from her cancer treatments. We also made the cruise to celebrate our 50th anniversary and both our 72nd birthdays. We found the cruise extremely interesting, enjoyable and relaxing which is what we were wanting. The Jewel is ...
My Husband and I cruised the Panama Canal from Acapulco to San Juan 25 years ago for our Silver Weeding Anniversary. So when # 50 was on the Horizon, we decided to do it again, this time in the other direction.
Unfortunately my Husband got ill and could not go, but I found a friend who could travel with me, so all was not lost.
Embarkation went without a snag and we were on board in less ...
Just two of us went cruising back eight years ago. It seems like we kept adding friends to go until we now have six of us - who get along famously and are very compatible (Lisa & Marty from Ohio, John and Sandy from Canada and Greg and I from Tennessee). We chose Panama/Central America because we had already tried East, West and South Caribbean and wanted to stop at some different ports. We also ...
Preface: My mom (60 y.o.) and I (30 y.o.) have gone on a couple cruises now together. We both like relaxing and reading in the sun, shopping for local goods (NOT name brands or jewels), and seeing the sights. We don't dress for formal night (at least not in cocktail gowns) and are pretty laid back.
Arrival: We arrived the night before and stayed at the Airport La Quinta which was nice. The hotel ...
Where to begin... This cruise was billed by RCCL as a Panama Canal Cruise (the name has since been changed to "10 Night Caribbean & Panama Cruise"). Cool right? But other than stopping in the less than attractive or safe city of Colon, Panama and offering very pricey excursions to experience the canal, the ship itself did not go through even one part of the canal. We ran into cruisers who did not ...
The itinerary was great, the crew was fantastic, and the ship was amazing. Our itinerary consisted of Aruba, Columbia, Panama Canal, Costa Rica, and Grand Cayman. The seas cooperated for most of the trip providing a calm and relaxing cruise.
Our trip began with a delay during the embarkation process due to inspections and "super" cleaning due to an outbreak of the norovirus on the previous ...
We arrived in Miami a day early to avoid any airport delays. We were glad we did. While there were no problems from Chicago, some East Coasters missed the ship and had to arrange for transportation to Aruba. We met up with a small group from the M&M for a pre-dinner get together. It went quite well. It gave us time to get to know each other in addition to the M&M arranged by RCI.
We got the port ...
