We chose this cruise because we got a significant discount due to casino play. The ship is beautiful; the staff is professional, attentive, and friendly. But there's not much to do, and there's an upcharge for much of the entertainment. Our first sticker-shock was when we did a wine and cheese pairing. We got a 40% discount because we paid to upgrade our drink package to premium. When the check ...
The ship is pretty. However there’s nothing to do on the ship. They have over priced dollar store crap in their stores and minimal shows you can attended. Most other cruise lines have fun activities planned all day long. MSC doesn’t they have one major show that’s performed 2 times a night.
Their staff is actually pretty rude too.
The food is weird. On their island they served some odd items ...
First observation when we arrived at the pool deck, no music, only a very disappointing 15-20 minute animated game throughout the cruise. we had to use our own speaker…. The pool was too deep, and the jacuzzi was overload. Chair was very dangerous and broken.
The quality of the food has dropped significantly compared to Seascape. Almost no seafood etc and very basic menu. unfortunately only one ...
This ship needs work; physically and otherwise. It’s older; has seen better days but with some focus on improvement, it can come back to its past glory.
Stateroom
Temperature in room uncontrolled
Had to ask for room cleaning first day
Had to ask for towel replacement 3rd day
(Found out later that our cabin steward quit unexpectedly 1st day)
Food
Great food selection in ...
The ship was huge and beautiful.
Staff at Port not organized not helpful
Crew on the ship were non energetic, boring, rude, standoffish, not helpful, and racist.
Cabin not cleaned properly and not fully stoked. Maid was lazy and had to keep asking him for everything
Entertainment sucked. Everything was geared towards Europeans and Hispanics.
No one really spoke English, if they ...
We (a family of 3) decided to pick this cruise cause it was super last minute and we needed the specific dates. We got the unlimited drinks package and the bubbly package (no alcohol - it does not include water either).
The check in process was smooth and we were able to get through it in less than 5 minutes - this involved the immigration where they checked out passports/ids and we didn't ...
We chose this cruise because it fell on our anniversary and was a short trip. We had rockstar status, which helped when getting into shows and making dinner reservations. Our rockstar agent, Mel was fantastic. The food was very average. We walked out of two restaurants after looking at the menus and the food on the other tables. Two of the five premium restaurants, Wake and The Italian restaurant ...
We booked NCL for the first time and will probably not go with them again.
Pros:
The food at the buffet was very good, great diversity and service was good. We never ate in the dining room because the buffet offered so much.
The Choir of Man, showing in the theatre was excellent. You had to have a reservation but it was free.
Mediocre:
The drink package was "included" but there ...
This was my 22d cruise since 2016, with 13 cruises on Carnival, three on Royal, three on MSC, and two prior cruises on the NCL Getaway in ’16 and ’18. I usually book through one of the large singles cruises companies and share a room. On this cruise my girlfriend had also booked a room (long story).
Overall, I was excited to go on the Encore in spite of not-so-warm feelings from the Getaway, ...
Let’s start by highlighting the positives…hmmm. Well most of the crew was pleasant. The attendants at the buffets were great. Food was extremely mediocre. We ate at the buffet because of the kids. The room was nice. My blanket was dirty so I took it off the bed and requested a new one. Most dishes were bland and overcooked. Fish tasted like cardboard, chicken was dry and very little flavor. Very ...
