70 plus cruises including Princess, Carnival, Royal, Celebrity, Disney, Premier and yes a few on NCL. This was by far the worst. First was the horrific lack of accurate information on what would be the worst embarkation EVER! The ship was scheduled for an unusual departure time of 11 pm due to relocating from Miami to NYC. Not an issue, seriously not a problem, I don't care as long as I'm onbaoard relaxing. Over several months leading up to the departure we were told at various times we could start boarding at 11 am, then that became noon, then between 12 and 4, then you can't board until 4 but you can drop off your luggage starting at 10 am, then you cant drop off your luggage until 2 pm, and then not at all. ETC,,, We booked air through NCL, the inbound flight they gave us had an arrival time of 7:30 am at EWR - wait we can't board now until 4, uuhhh what do we do for 9 hours? Sorry you can't change your flight you can't drop off your bags- but hey have fun and enjoy the city! The ship arrived at 2:30 or so, the actual boarding started at 4, we had a reservation time of 4, we were on line at 4 and crossed the ship threshold at 7:10! Service was hit or miss, a little slow in the Main Dining Rooms, but great in the speciality restaurants. Cabin steward was poor, not fulfilling simple requests, ( extra towels, ice bucket), even after tipping extra and well. Bar service was very very good, without any extra tips. Food was good overall, but often oversalted, and one meal was terrible with the main course being a filet mignon being like shoe leather, (cooked medium as requested). The shows - Elements was good, not great just good. Footloose was a complete waste of time, bad sound, bad acting, poor voice on the lead male, just a mess... Comedy was mixed - JR absolutely fantastic! The other dude - not so much. Casino was average payouts. The ship is in great condiiton, and nothing stood out as needing repair. The stateroom could use more storage - seriously not a single drawer at all? Debarkation was even worse than embarkation if that's possible. Out of the room as ordered at 8 am. Waiting for our tags to be called in the buffet restaurant upstairs, at 8:45 we were all told we must vacate the restaurant. No Colors (tags) called at all. Despite the lack of calls, at 10:10 the Captain says everyone can leave - all at once! It took about 40 minutes to exit the ship and find our NCL transfer bus. Folks have flights starting at 1 pm. We sat on the bus waiting until it was full - leaving the pier around 12:40. We got to EWR at 2:15. At least half the bus missed their flights. Compared to other lines at the same level of luxury this is a relatively expensive cruise and you will pay additonal for anything extra - the spa prices are insane. We have future cruise credits - and we don't care, we're not going back.
