Sail Date: Apr 2023
Cabin: Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

The main focus of this trip was to visit relatives in New Zealand and Australia. After spending a month travelling around the 2 countries we decided to board the Noordam to sail back to Vancouver. We found the ship very clean and well maintained. The cabin was adequate with a great balcony. There was an issue with the air conditioning in our stateroom which took 3 days to fix but we were compensated for the inconvenience. The stewards looked after us very well. Everything was cleaned and polished daily, sometimes twice. All public areas were clean and neat. Room service for breakfast was not great. Twice we didn’t get what we ordered but we definitely didn’t go hungry.

Open seating in the dining room was good because we could meet new people every night. The menu offered a variety of meals well prepared and presented. The Lido Market offered a great variety of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The 2 specialty restaurants were excellent . Entertainment was not the best but there were choices.

I would definitely take a cruise on Holland America again though possibly on a smaller ship.
