Antarctica was a dream of mine, but I wish I had booked with another company. Celebrity knew we were 3 adults and they intended to put me on a sofa for a small child. I couldn't sleep the first night. Guest Relations said they couldn't fix it that night and nobody apologized for the awful night I spent. The next morning I stayed in Guest Relations and didn't move for two hours until they told me they had a solution. They were really incompetent. They actually treated me like I was looking for a free upgrade rather than an actual bed for an adult. I will never sail Celebrity again only for how they treated me concerning this issue. They only had to put a foldable bed, why couldn't they do it on the first night? That was just bad service.

The ship is really old, but that didn't bother me that much. The accessibility is not great, and they don't care about helping you. The elevator to deck 12 doesn't work, so I couldn't see any movies on the terrace. They don't have a space for people with disabilities on the buffet as they have on Royal Caribbean's ships. It was impossible to find a seat, I'm a wheelchair user and the staff almost never volunteered in helping me carry the plates. I suppose someone complained about it because on the last day, they were super eager to help me and I found it annoying and condescending. The Latin staff was really nice to us tough.

The main dining room had nice food but the service was really slow. I don't know what was the problem. Other people seemed to leave sooner than us, but most nights our dinner didn't end until 11! So in the middle of the cruise, we stopped going to the dining room, and so did the people at our table. We kept missing all the night activities because of the bad service. We returned on the last couple of nights and seemed to improve a bit.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2B

The wheelchair-accessible cabin had enough space, but when they put the third bed, it blocked the balcony door. We had to move it every time I wanted to go outside. The third bed was really uncomfortable and being next to the balcony it was freezing, I had to ask for blankets. There is no sofa bed as they claim, there is a sofa with an extendable part where only a small child can fit (not even a 10-year-old). The bathroom was okay, but the ramp to the bathroom door was uncomfortable to maneuver and caused my parents to trip several times. The design is not great.
