We went on this cruise with friends. Amsterdam was a wonderful city despite the fact that we only had a few hours there. We went for a little canal cruise on our own and that was great. The Viking Hermod and its crew were wonderful. They always aim to please. All the excursions we took were really nice. We especially liked Heidelberg, Strasburg and Colmar, and the Black Forest! All of our guides were very informative and we had a great time! We opted for the extra two nights in Lucerne, Switzerland and it was awesome! The boat ride to take the funicular to the top of Mt. Pilatus was the most fun of the whole trip. Switzerland is just breathtaking!

Most of the food was good. I am not the biggest fan of German food but it was certainly adequate and you always have other choices at dinner. too.
