We chose this cruise primarily because of the free airfare. When Viking books your airfare, they pick you up at your destination airport and transport you to the ship - and then take you back to the airport when the cruise is finished.
The ship is much, much smaller than an ocean cruise and has far fewer passengers (190), so there weren't any lines! The free excursions were very good. The food was very good. Beer and wine are included with your meals. If you want a mixed drink, you have to pay for it. . There weren't any shows, but there was an excellent piano player/singer in the lounge each night .There weren't any formal nights, so the clothes you wore to the ports were fine.
They had special demonstrations and speakers. There weren't photographers anywhere on the ship or at each port, so there was no pressure to buy. There weren't any casinos on board.
We had a french balcony, and although it was smaller than I thought it would be, it was fine - and the bathroom floors were heated! That was a nice treat!
