My sister and I enjoyed our time in southern France very much! The crew of the Hermod did everything they could to make our time positive despite not being able to go north through the locks due to the strike. From the wait staff to cabin stewards to the front desk, everyone was clearly there to assist passengers. Sam, the activities director, is an absolute gem! He worked tirelessly to make the trip special. He was able to arrange some additional unique opportunities for us including visiting an amazing home of a local woman where Jews were hidden during the war. He also arranged for all of us to have lunch at a stunning chateau. He went above and beyond to make lemonade out of lemons while maintaining his professionalism and humor.
The tours themselves were wonderful, although a few were sadly shortened due to having to be bused to the locations.
They left me wanting more ~ more time to listen, learn, and explore. A favorite additional excursion was Les Baux and the Carriers Lumieres. Truly an exceptional experience! The guides were all top-notch. They were so knowledgeable and pleasant. Anne in Arles was especially impressive ~ very informative and filled with humor.
The cabin was nicely appointed. There were many thoughtful features like the small ledge that ran above the counter in the bedroom area and the heated floor in the bathroom. Clarissa (sp?) did a great job of keeping our cabin clean, neat, and fresh.
