Sail Date: Dec 2022

Do you know what you get when you go on a ship with a capacity of 3,963 and there are 5900 people on board, the Worst Cruise Ever. I sailed on the Getaway out of NYC on 12/23/22. The weather was horrible (which I know was not NCLs fault) so we were stuck in port until 12/24. This resulted in a tax on every drink that we ordered for the time we were in port. The excursion to the private island was cancelled due to rough seas, which didn't seem rough at all. Instead we went to Nassau to drop off a passenger that was having a medical emergency. Then we went back out to sea only to come back to Nassau the next day. I spent the entire week waiting on lines, trying to find a seat at the buffet and being turned away from shows and activities. On Christmas day we decided to try out the noodle bar. We arrived at 11:00 for the 12:00 opening. The line didn't look that long so we figured we would make it in. When it came time to go in there was one person in the front of the line holding a spot for 6 people that showed up just in time to get in. This line holding happened over and over again. We complained about it but no one cared. We were turned away for the first sitting at the noodle bar but got into the second seating. All I can say is it wasn't worth the wait but really none of the food on the ship was worth the wait. Going to the buffet was a challenge in itself. We spent a lot of time circling the buffet looking for an empty seat because the ship was so overcrowded. The only activity we were able to get into were those that cost us money like BINGO. No one was turned away from BINGO. In Nassa we paid for an excursion to Paradise Island. The boat to the island was a very rough trip due to rain and wind and very high winds. The island itself was very overcrowded. We got a lunch voucher but was yelled at when I asked for two hotdogs because you could either have one hotdog or one hamburger. This island is NOT paradise at all. We went to an event called Bam Boozled. Of course we were turned away. We were told that it only has a capacity of 40 people. How can you have close to 6000 people on a ship and have an activity for 40 people. The bottom line is too many people were on this ship and it made for a miserable Christmas Cruise.
