We just returned from a fabulous cruise on the Norwegian Getaway after several years since our last one. This will go down as one of our favorite cruises! Yes the itinerary changed on day two - which saw our stops in Bermuda replaced with an additional day at Port Canaveral and a day in Nassau - but at least for my wife and I we had selected the vacation because of the ship and the dates, so this impacted us very little. I felt they communicated well regarding the reason for the change in itinerary (weather) and was overall not disappointed by the change. The service we received from the steward, concierge, and butler was top-notch. If we had to select our vacation heroes I would suggest it was the two main bartenders in the Haven Lounge Bar - they were so friendly; very accommodating; and a lot of fun! The ship itself exceeded expectations - food was yummy; the shows were some of the best we've seen; and, the ship was decked out sweetly for the holidays. We liked this cruise so much we rebooked immediately for next new year on the Getaway.
As for the itinerary: the stop at Great Stirrup Cay was amazing. We treated ourselves to a Villa in Silver Cove where we were provided with an amazing accommodation on the beach, with bar service and access to an upscale buffet for lunch. We stayed for six hours total and enjoyed every minute!
Our frequent visits on this ship were to the Raw Bar (excellent and compares favorably against many of our favorite seafood restaurants at home!); Howl at the Moon (dueling pianos and engaging performers!!); Dolce Gelato (try the bon bons!); and, the Haven Restaurant.
We stayed in a Haven Spa Suite: the cabin was roomy; great balcony; and, very comfortable bed. The balcony (photo attached) was a very nice size. This suite had everything we wanted.
