Customer service line was full all cruise, Free at Sea sounds great, but a headache to use.

If it weren't for Hawaii, cruise would have seriously bombed. Hawaii fixes a lot. We are frequent cruisers and this was a let down, even though we paid more than any other cruise we have taken. Ship used half staff and claimed half passengers. So half the ship is always closed. Most specialty restaurants closed. Staff can't keep up with basic services and are grumpy. They pass the buck and nothing gets addressed.

Can't easily use the "Free at Sea" which was one reason we paid extra. Couldn't get reservations to restaurants we wanted, but the ones we were stuck with were outstanding compared to the main dining room (much better food and service). The limited main dining staff was shown by a grumpy waiter doing the water, bread, wine, bussing, etc. all by himself for multiple tables. I'd be grumpy too. Norwegian needs to staff up and not go off half ****. Many unhappy fellow passengers and staff. Most cruises have smiling helpful foreign staff members who are delighted to interact and help with the simplest things. Pride of America is staffed with US staffers who are obviously not happy with the workload and tell you to "come back later" or "go ask customer service".

That being said, you aren't taking this cruise for the cruise experience. Most of the time is spent off the boat exploring Hawaii. No cruise time to drink or partake in shows. We never used the pool. Difficult to safely park rental cars at overnight ports. Ports set up for industry and not cruisers. Airports are close, but you haver to uber or taxi to get your rentals, same to return them.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Room doesn't sleep 4 as advertised, unless 2 are kids. We had 4 seniors. We called prior to assure they could bring in a roll away bed and Norwegian corporate said sure and noted the account. Not possible once on the ship. Never saw the steward. Bed made once a day and towels refreshed if you left them on the floor. Had to chase down extension cord at customer service for CPAP machine. Had to fetch our own ice for a back injury. Very minimal which is fine, but charge accordingly.
