Operations during the COVID lockdown were more difficult and restrictive for passengers and crew but the 450 plus passengers completed the trip without incidents as far as we could determine. The safety protocols in place restricted passenger movement on ashore excursions keeping passengers in a bubble much like the NBA playoff protocols earlier in 2021. We expected this based on phone calls to Viking contacts prior to the trip and we did the mental calculus to balance our risk tolerance for overseas travel against the lack of shore port call roaming that we have experienced on past Viking cruises. With my spouse being a recovering cancer patient who had been locked down for almost two years for cancer and COVID the decision to go was difficult but Viking did its best to make the experience safe and memorable and we had a superb time.

Pros:

* YES WE WOULD DO IT AGAIN AND PROBABLY WILL GO BACK FOR FURTHER TRIPS TO THE SCANDINAVIAN COUNTIES

Cabin Review
