I did this cruise once before through the Old Locks and this was even a better experience. The entire passage through the locks was narrated by an experienced commentator and was also on the TV in my room so it was easy to appreciate it. I also was happy with all the ports selected. My balcony cabin on the port side was lovely.

Ports tours that I enjoyed were San Sebastian above Puerto Vallarta, boat ride in Huatulco, the Indian Village in Panama, and Old Town tour in Cartagena Columbia. There are wonderful tours in Costa Rica but I, unfortunately, went to San Jose and that was boring.

Everyone wore their masks and the staff was amazing.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Wonderful bed, plenty of room for me, had only a shower, no tub which was fine. Newer carpet than some other cabins. Enjoyed the port side of the ship. Close to dining rooms. Was a little tipsy in rough weather because it was up high.

Very quiet due to good insulation, I think.

Port Reviews

Puerto Vallarta

Always enjoyable. Went to San Sebastian which I loved.

Huatulco

This is a lovely surprise. Went on a boat and bus tour which I enjoyed. Much larger resort area than I would have suspected.

Puntarenas (Puerto Caldera)

Lots of fun activities here. Don't bother to go to San Jose. My big mistake. Previously we rafted a river which was great.

Fuerte Amador (Balboa)

Really enjoyed going to the authentic Indian Village via dugout canoe.

Cartagena (Colombia)

Very, very hot so select a well-air-conditioned bus for your tour. But the Old Town was interesting. Drink a lot of water.
