Hurtigruten was recommended to us by our Travel Agent on the strength of feedback from previous cutomers. We researched the company ourselves and booked two years ago, for 11/20 in order to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday that year and our 50th Wedding Anniversary. We unfortunately had to reschedule to this year due to the pandemic Nevertheless and although belated the trip turned out to be a special one and made up for the delay to our celebrations. The atmosphere on board was relaxed, just as we wanted. The internal surroundings & seating areas comfy and pleasing on the eye. We had upgraded to a spacious cabin and prepaid food and drinks package because of our celebrations and so were able to dine a la carte each night where we were treated to excellent food and quality wines. For us it was well worth prepaying to have such a special experience. It wasn't about quantity but about the quality of it.The chef Keith in that dining area proved to be very talented and creative and our friendly young waiter Jon was so knowledgable about the best wines to serve best with the courses. Both will be remembered. We will also remember and have to mention also Lorraine in the main dining area who served up our breakfasts and lunches working hard to be helpful and to please. The food and service was also to a high standard in the main dining. Overall all the crew we came across were courteous and friendly yet remained professional throughout and whilst providing great service. We felt comfortable and reassured by the safety measures put in place for covid. An important factor and last but not least were the picturesque towns we stopped at, the wonderful views along the coast and within the fjords. We enjoyed organised trips and even the Ice Ceremony as we passed into the Arctic Circle. If you want to be entertained by musical shows and bustling activites this type of cruise isn't for you. If you want comfortable surroundings, a relaxed atmosphere and great service whilst enjoying the beauty of this interesting and picturesque country of Norway this is the way to do it, especially if you can sail with the Nordylis.

Cabin Review

Spaceous with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Very comfortable bed and pleasant shower and toilet area with underfloor heating- much appreciated. Nice seating area with two large windows to enjoy the views. A double screened TV to accomadate seperate viewings per couple though we didin't use it much we can appreciate others would.
