We wanted to see the northern lights and this cruise did not disappoint. In addition we visited some beautiful locations and spent time exploring the towns along the route. The COVID-19 measures on board were excellent and with fewer passengers we felt very safe. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food on board was excellent: the breakfast buffet was extensive and lunch and dinner provided sufficient choices to enable everyone to find a dish to their liking.

Excursions are expensive but for those happy to go independently most trips are possible by taxi at a much reduced cost. One exception is the dog sled excursion which is very enjoyable and worth booking from the ship.

The first part of the cruise, from south to north, provides the best locations and activities but we also enjoyed the rest of the journey. Be prepared for some rough seas and bad weather in winter.

Cabin Review

The basic cabins are small but clean and functional. The shower is tiny and the toiletries are placed high up and are awkward to get to especially if you are short. The beds are comfortable and can be folded back during the day with one converting to a sofa.
