Sail Date: Aug 2021
Cabin: Junior Suite

After having 4 booked cruises that were cancelled in the past year we were so happy to resume cruising. We celebrated my husband's Birthday on RCCL Independence of Seas and enjoyed every moment. Originally we booked a Balcony but we put a bid in for a Junior Suite when we received the Royal Up offer and we got it and it was totally worth it. The Crew and Officers were amazing and they were also happy to be cruising again. The ship was at about 33% passenger capacity so nothing was crowded and social distancing was not an issue. We were very impressed with all of the health precautions and had no issues wearing masks when needed. The ship glided through the water so smoothly and even with Hurricane Grace in the Gulf the Captain sailed East instead of North because the bad weather was near Costa Maya so we missed that Port, it got a little cloudy in the afternoon and sprinkled but we were clear of any bad weather. Disembarking off the ship was the fastest and easiest we had ever experienced. We carried our own luggage off and only stopped once for a facial recognition photo.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Very happy with the tub/shower and sink in the bathroom, the walk in closet, extra seating, a very large balcony with 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a table, a sliding glass door and an extra window. Our location was super convenient and quiet.
