We spent alot of time researching cruises on which to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The reviews we read on this site for Equinox and the great Carribbean itineraries offered really enticed us to book the 10-day Exotic Carribean Escape. In an effort to avoid redundancy of what has already been posted on this site for the Equinox, I am going to share our perspective of the things that we enjoyed most on the cruise and the ship and address some of the questions I had myself prior to our sailing.

We were fortunate enough to receive a cabin upgrade a few weeks prior to our sailing. We had purchased a 1B cabin about 18 months prior to the sailing. After we saw a drop in prices about 12 months later, we upgraded to an S2 "guarantee". Two weeks prior to the cruise, we were notified that we were assigned an S1 aft corner cabin. Jackpot! The cabin was huge and we loved the large wrap-around balcony. We are now spoiled and can't imagine sailing any other way. There were lounge chairs provided on the balcony, so many afternoons, when the pool area was crowded and the chair-hogs were evident, we would go up and enjoy the quietness of our balcony. Why not? Our stocked mini-fridge was within easy reach, as was the bathroom (not so on the outdoor decks), and our butler would bring us whatever we wanted with one phone call.

We found the ship to be even more beautiful than we anticipated. She is gorgeous and beautifully designed. We found it very easy to get around the ship and enjoyed so many of the public spaces. There is truth, as reported in other reviews, that the walk from the rear elevator to the aft cabins is very long (especially after a few glasses of wine in the evenings). Our favorite area was the Lawn Club. Prior to boarding the ship, I thought the lawn would prove to be a wasted, usless space. Wrong! We spent so much time sitting just outside the sunset bar each evening, with our toes in the grass, sipping wine and watching the sun set into the horizon. It proved to be our favorite spot on the ship and we didn't miss a single evening there. We also learned to play Bocce on the lawn and had a lot of fun with it.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 1

Cabin S1

Spacious cabin with large, wrap around deck. Two side-by-side large closets with ample room. Additional drawers in the desk and night stands. Bed is very comfortable. Stocked mini-fridge provided. We asked everything be removed so we could stock with our own items.

Wi-fi worked great after the second day. The online services provided via the TV were very helpful and we used them daily to view activities, see the ship's location and book shore excursions.

View from balcony is incredible. Two chairs with footrests are provided as well as a table for dining. Minimal soot on the deck but never caused a problem.

The bathroom is spacious with a full tub/shower combo and plenty of storage space. Toiletries, Q-tips and cotton balls are provided.
