Arrived the night before and stayed at a hotel in Orlando. Used an XL Uber to get to Port Canaveral in the morning. As a family of four, I'm always looking for affordable ways to get to the port. After years of using a rental car, we started using Uber when sailing out of Miami and loved the convenience. The cost is about the same as a rental car and it's great to just be dropped right at the port.

We were Haven guests so that gave us access to the much shorter line to go through security. The regular line was ridiculously long. The Haven check in desk was chaos. No communication as to who to check in with or what the process was. We got there around Noon and the waiting area was about 3/4 full. After figuring out you check in with your name and then wait to be called up, we sat down to enjoy the provided snacks. Nothing fancy, but a nice treat none the less. Check in took much longer than usual due to the laptops used to take guest's pictures and issue room cards. They just kept crashing. Once our family was called up, the laptop crashed twice. The staff were starting to get treated quite rudely by some guests. It obviously is not their fault the system can't handle the load. NCL really needs to determine if this is a network or hardware issue and remedy it.

After finally getting checked in, we were quickly taken onto the ship to the Haven lounge where we met the concierge. We did use their services a few times during the cruise and they were always great. Had a wonderful lunch at the Haven restaurant. We ate here several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was always delicious. One of the best perks of being a Haven guest is the restaurant.

Cabin Review

The Haven Forward-Facing Penthouse with Balcony

The cabin has a lot of space and storage. Our room steward suggested a roll away bed so our two teens didn't have to share the sofa bed which was wonderful. The cabin was definitely showing some wear and tear, but overall, it's still a fabulous space. We spent a good amount of time just relaxing in the living area or out on the enclosed veranda. All that means is that you basically have a roof above the veranda. We all loved having that. Still got to enjoy the view and fresh air, but no one can see you from above and there's plenty of shade if you don't want to be in the sun. Love this cabin.
