We chose this cruise for it's itinerary specifically for a cruise travelling to Grand Cayman and Jamaica as part of the western Caribbean. it had been a while since I've experienced those ports. The ship had sailed from Miami the night before we embarked, so there was no turnover of disembarking passengers, so if you happened to arrive early, you were lucky enough to get right on the ship. We arrived at 10:15 AM and we were on board by 10:35 even with a 5 minute delay because of computer issues. Nice and easy boarding process. We immediately headed to deck 6 for the Guest Services desk, which was very efficient, to arrange for my daughter's room to be charged to my credit card. This was very quick, so we then headed to the Atrium Bar for the first of many drinks there for the week. Since it was so early, we opted for delicious Bloody Mary's and/or Mimosas, The servers at the Atrium bar are excellent. At about noon, we headed down to Savor Restaurant for a sit down lunch, which was very good. Staff tends to like to herd people to the buffet, but head to deck 6 for the main restaurants in the aft section. Cabins were also ready early, so after lunch we dropped off our carry-ons and were please to see our luggage had already arrived... very fast! ten minutes later we were unpacked and ready to begin to celebrate sail away. The cabin (a mid ship balcony) was very nice , although the space from the corner of the mattress to the wall was a little narrow trying to get to the couch or balcony. We had opted for the SDP for three days, and of course had Platinum + benefits for another 2 days, so most of our meals were in the specialty restaurants. Our favorite is still Le Bistro, and we have never been disappointed there. Cagneys was good, and Teppanyaki was very entertaining. There were some minor service issues in La Cucina, but we addressed it quickly with the Maitre'D and it was corrected quickly. Entertainment was top notch on this cruise with Burn The Floor and Velvet , and Six leading the way as shows! Syd Normans was a good place for music, and the Caribbean/Reggae band Natural Mystic was very very good. Individual performers (guitar, piano, etc ) were also scattered across the ship each night. Service was exemplary all week. We had good weather all week, and the ports were just as wonderful as expected. We liked the Breakaway, and would go again.
