Years ago I heard that Norwegian was one of the worst cruise lines but since it was so long ago my family & I decided that perhaps they had gotten better over the years. Well, I am here to tell you they have not.
The cruise was leaving from Miami & I live near the west coast. I opted for their air fare never imagining they would not allow me input as to departure times. If I was doing it myself I would have gone to Miami the day before and paid for my own hotel. Norwegian booked me on an overnight flight arriving very early in the morning. When I called their travel department I was told I just had to live with their accommodations. No food and a very small glass of water offered. After arriving I had to claim my bag and wait for my family to arrive. There was no place to get anything to eat or drink in baggage claim. When my family arrived we headed for the port and got there before noon.
We checked in with hordes of other passengers and were given a “group number” with no explanation. Our group was 20. We were then herded into a very large room filled with 500-600 other people and not enough seats for everyone. We were held in that room for over 4 hours with no offer of anything to drink or eat. By the time we boarded I had not eaten or had any significant water for over 24 hours. At no time after boarding was the fact that we were held in that room for so long even acknowledged much less offered an apology. It was as if it was their normal embarkation process so I suspect it is. Disembarkation was bad as well. Their onboard customer care never took care of anything saying it was not their job and we had to take our issues up with shore customer care when we returned. I have done that and supplied them lengthy information and have received no credible response. They just don’t care.
Very small for 3 people & the xtra bed was so hard, the floor was better!!
