  • Sail Date: Oct 2019
  • Destination: Transatlantic
  • Cabin Type: Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2B

Great way to return back to North America after a European land tour.

Ship needs some updating, but everything is still fine.

Luigi, one of the best cruise directors ever. From Dominican Republic, young and endless energy.

Best entertainment lineup on over 30 cruises that we've taken.

Being a repo, additional entertainment was booked, afternoon shows and at least 3 guest lecturers. About double the activities from a standard cruise.

Lots to do if you want to, or relax.

Awesome that Celebrity has banned smoking in the casino!

Max and Elton John entertainer was fabulous

Had Barricade Boys, 4 young men all who were in Les Miserables on London's West End. Outstanding entertainment from Les Mis, 4 Seasons and more. Appeared a few times

Daniel Koek, singer, youngest Jean Valjean in Les Mis in West end. Again just a fabulous show

Ollie Mulkeen, trumpet/vocals from UK, excellent

Ben Woodward, comedy/illusion was fun

Leanne Jarvis, super singer from UK The Voice

Dave Austin, soul/jazz, Nicole Sasser, vocals and trumpet. Some of the acts played together in later shows

Gilly and Girl, pleasant vocals, around the ship lounges, then big show in theatre, excellent

Luke Burrage, funny juggler

Darren Dower, impressionist, vocals, guitar, played with Paul Revere and Raiders, Righteous Brothers

Stage shows were good, best one was Broadway Tribute

Food was super, even had lobster tails last night even though they are hard to source in Europe.

Enjoyed gym and solarium pool.

Weather was excellent, 25 deg across ocean and very smooth, Captain says one of the smoothest he has been on.

Apple classes onboard, and sale of Apple products if desired.

Library way too small, most ships are going this way, sad

Crossword/Soduku daily puzzles by Purser's Desk, should have been in library like other ships

Internet wasn't too bad but usual priced too high.

Elite benefits were great to enjoy, with nightly reception, one free laundry bag, some internet time

We did ship excursion in Tenerife to Mount Tiede, volcano, highly recommended

Barcelona, took shuttle to city, then Metro to Sagrada Familia.

Malaga, walked off and met friends

Cartagena, walked off, nice Roman theatre, had some rain

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2B

TV a little dated, bed was super. light coloured furniture

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

Barcelona

shuttle from ship to Columbus monument area, a few euros, easy to walk up La Rambla. we took Metro to Sagrada Familia. A must see. Must book interior tour from their website.

Metro back to Barcelonetta, beach was great. Then walked back to shuttle.

Area and beach very crowded, due to Marathon race, boat festival and weekend

Cartagena (Spain)

easy to walk into town.

rain, so marble tiles were very slippery

Roman theatre was very nice, rebuilt. walked around town, Amphitheatre not accessible, under repair. nice waterfront

Malaga

visited with friends who lived nearby. Lots of ped walking areas, shopping, stores and restaurants aplenty.

nice waterfront

Go to a Bodega and have some fortified wine

Canadas del Teide

a must see to go to top of Volcano, take cablecar, interesting drive up from ocean, beach, forest, to no trees to volcanic setting
