Sail Date: Jun 2019
Cabin: Mid-ship Balcony Stateroom
Traveled with children

We were a group of 8 traveling with family which included 3 children (5, 9, 10). We thought it would be fun for them as well as have the opportunity to see Alaska and it's wildlife. Because the ship is so large getting on and off took forever. The elevators were almost always crowded. The food, although there was lots of variety all tasted the same--salty, oily, fattening! Not enough healthy choices.

The stateroom had a very small balcony and the bed reached almost to the desk. It was cramped and hard to get around, no room for a chair with a back!--we thought we paid for a good stateroom!

The ports were interesting but the time was limited. Too much time at sea. We went dogsledding via helicopter in Juneau and that was fabulous! Skagway wildlife excursion was way too long and we saw NO wildlife and the guides seemed uninterested. Because there was a medical emergency we were late getting into Ketchikan and missed opportunities to go on the bear adventure we had planned on. The next day was all at sea and we got to Victoria at night! Took almost an hour to get off the ship, taxi/bus lines were long and we had to be back on board in less than 3 hours! Shops in Victoria were mostly closed, not much else to do. Wished we could have spent the time in Ketchikan.

Cabin Review

Mid-ship Balcony Stateroom

Cramped, hard to get around! Bed reached almost to the desk, kept bumping into it! No chair with a back to use at the desk, just a small ottoman. Not enough electrical outlets!!! None near the bed, they gave use an extension cord that we had to be careful not to trip on!

Port Reviews

Juneau

This was fabulous start to finish!!!!!! Highly recommend!

Skagway

too long, didn't see wildlife, guides uninterested!

Glacier Bay

Viewed from the ship, beautiful!

Victoria

Arrived late at night. Had very little time there. Took forever to get off the ship, taxi/bus lines were very long to get into town. When we finally got there, everything was closed except for bars and restaurants which we had plenty of on the ship! Not sure why we even stopped there, would rather have spent the time in Ketchikan.
