Embarkation was a breeze as we had expedited arrival, we were able to just walk past the large queue and get straight on to enjoy the ship. We had a Concierge package, so our room was ready when we arrived and our luggage was amongst the first to be loaded onto the ship. We headed for our complimentary 4 course lunch in one of the main dining rooms when we had checked out our rooms. This was beautiful with a great selection. Dining in general on the ship was first class, lots of selection each night. We were based in the Tuscan restaurant. However, the service from the bar staff was not great. Many times our order was only taken well after we had ordered our dinner, perhaps a single server for a few tables like on RCCL would be better. The buffet was well stocked and the hotdog and burger bar was amazing! We loved heading to the ice cream bar every afternoon for a cookie and ice cream.
We had an infinity veranda room which was excellent. The room was very spacious and we enjoyed having the balcony room to sit in in the afternoon and into the evening. However, the window was rather annoying to put up and down and wasn’t really like a traditional balcony room. Bathroom was huge by cruise ship standards and we had amenities due to our Concierge status. Also in our package fresh fruit was delivered daily as well as a tray of mini delights (normally 3 savoury and 1 sweet treat). Our room was well cleaned, although the mirror in our room was cracked and covered over with some tape. Not what you would expect on a brand new ship!
We didn’t use too much of the nightly entertainment, we used the casino and the outside area on the top deck which was lovely. We enjoyed the range of movies available and liked the large screen outside. Service at each bar was fabulous and we were never waiting long before being served. The pool attendants were excellent and were around constantly ensuring that you were never short of a drink.
