Viking Sky Cruise Review by Trishd
- Sail Date: April 2019
- Destination: Baltic Sea
When we arrived at the airport in Copenhagen, there we Viking Staff available throughout baggage claim to help direct us to the busses. At the Pier, we checked in relatively quickly and our rooms where available right away. Our bags were in our room within an hour of our arrival! We made reservations for Manfredi's and The Chef's Table on line before sailing. During the 11 days, we were able to get into both restaurants a couple more times! We were not interested the the evening shows, so I can't really comment on them, however we did like Matthew, the guitarist who played :45 sets around the ship. Included shore excursions were OK. I think it was hit and miss with the tour guides and they tended to be larger groups than the optional excursions. The best optional tour we took was the Soviet Flashback in Estonia. Although I have to add that if you are more interested in visiting the old part of the city, you should do this tour in the AM instead of the afternoon. I would have liked more time in Estonia. We used Alla Tours for our 3 day St Petersburg tours. I can't say enough about them! Svletlania was a great guide for our 3 days! I would use them again and again! The service on the ship was wonderful. It was our first Viking cruise. We have cruised other large ships and have not received the same service as we did this last 11 days. Great job by all! Vlad, Alex, Vickie, Shelia. All FANTASTIC!

Heated floors in the bathroom are a game changer! It was almost too warm. Lots pf room in the bathroom for toiletries. Hair dryer in the room needs to be plugged into the desk/vanity not in the bathroom. Lots of outlets. We traveled with a computer, tablet and 2 phones and we still had open outlets! There is a night light, blow dryer, robes, slippers binoculars and umbrellas in the stateroom, so we left all these at home! The fridge was stocked each day with water, sodas and snacks.

StockholmThere was only a small group of us. Maybe 20. Viking passengers are the only ones on the train. It runs only in the summer and this was the first trip of the season, so many of the locals waved and took pics as we passed by. A nice way to spend the day, but you are in the countryside, so there was no time for shopping or museums in Stockholm.View All 12,260 Stockholm Cruise Port Reviews

TallinnThis tour was in an ole soviet era bus w/driver and guide. The guide was hilarious! We went to a decommissioned naval base and Soviet Olympic sailboat racing venue. Wish this tour was longer as well!View All 12,260 Tallinn Cruise Port Reviews

City TourWe visited 2 small villages. We only had :30 in each. They were very pretty and we would have loved to spend more time in either or them. Visiting 1 for :60 would have been preferred.View All 6 City Tour Reviews
