Traveled with children

This was a spring break cruise for our family traveling with elementary aged kids. They were not too impressed with the kids club or kids activities because of the restricted hours of operation for splash academy and the organization of activities in the Club (games when you were “out” you had to sit and wait with nothing to do). We were also not very happy with the food in the main dining and especially the buffet. The variety was limited and the layout was too large to fill a plate of food before it got cold. In main dining, service was a bit slow as well and we could not expect to spend less than 2 hours over dinner. The ship was nice and new and seemed to have many options for everyone. However, 2 in my immediate family and 2 in extended family got food poisoning, or stomach illness on second to last day on board. Also eye infection. So although things looked clean, common areas may have needed a bit more attention. It did not feel too crowded even though we had a full boat, so that was nice. And our rooms were comfortable and a relaxing retreat. Embarkation was smooth and faster than anticipated, and debarkation was not too bad either. Overall, we would probably consider a cruise in Norwegian Escape again, however, not until both children are over the age of 13.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin was comfortable. Bathroom was tight. Would have preferred turndown service to leaving the room set all day, but room steward was only on second sailing, and did not want to overwhelm him. Bed was comfortable.

Port Reviews

Great Stirrup Cay

Nice island, but hazards in walkways. My 77 year old mother had a fall after tripping over a large rock imbedded in the pathway to the bathroom.
