We chose this cruise because my wife is several weeks pregnant. So we wanted to go to Hawaii to avoid any places with Zika. This was our last opportunity to vacation since both of us are very busy and rarely get much time off. And with the baby coming later this year its only going to be harder. If we had known that Princess was going to be so bad we would have flown to Hawaii and stayed in a hotel instead.

Nearly every night we were woken up to loud thumping noises. We have some recordings and you can hear it pretty good even on just a crappy phone mic. It sounded like a very unbalanced washing machine directly above us. We contacted the help desk and our steward. But they wouldn't tell us what it was. It would go away once we said something but then back the next night. Needless to say we didn't get the restful sleep we wanted. Princess offered us $90 off our final bill at the end of the cruise but I felt like it should have been more than that. They told me I would have to contact customer relations. But in the mean time they went ahead and closed the bill. I called the day after I got home and was told I had to email not call. So I did that. It took them a few days and they called me back...not emailed. They said they would offer us $75 per person future cruise credit that we would have to schedule within one year. This was infuriating because we wont be able to cruise again any time soon because of the baby coming later this year. So the $75 per person is worthless to us.

Beyond that the Emerald Princess is not in very good condition. There were several things in very poor condition or totally broken. And the food...having cruised with Princess in the past I was expecting a little better quality, but it was not good at all. Read more
