Alaska Cruise on our bucket list; Princess, was recommended over RC as being a step up, as a great Cruise line. We have taken many cruises so we wanted our Alaska adventure to be the best. Very disappointed, Cruise ship was just OK. Bathroom was smallest ever on a cruise ship. Buffet selections were limited and not very tasty. Also, even though Sanitizer stations were present throughout the eating area and ship, I saw very few people and staff using them. Dinner service in the dining room was poor and took forever; even the drink orders weren't very timely. Dinner just dragged out to long; waiters were very scarce and not attentive. Waiters never followed up and if you asked for something, it took forever. For example, bread placed on table but not butter. After asking for butter, it came well into the mean being served. The only thing handled timely was asking for your cruise card to make charges to your account. The specialty restaurant The Salty Dog was a joke, pretzels from Walmart with Cheese were better than what they tried to pass off as an appetizer. Crab cake was so bad, could not get past the smell; it was not crab meat. They did offer to substitute something else but it came at the same time as dessert. The restaurant was not very crowded, very poor service and food. Entertainment on the ship was terrible, worst ever on a cruise ship. Had high expectations for the Glaciers, another disappointment. Kept waiting to see bigger Glaciers, instead just circled around the same glacier, never cruised further to see other larger glaciers that I had seen from other peoples trips from their Alaska cruise. What a true disappointment, we kept waiting to see the next one but it never happened. The 3.5 hour stop in Victoria was another disappointment. What a waste of time and money to arrive in the dark and rain only to pay for an in-town excursion to see nothing, but walk around in the rain, shops closing, long line to go back to the ship. All in all very disappointed in the Alaska adventure on-board Ruby Princess Would never recommend Princess cruise line to anyone Carnival experiences have been better than what we experienced So very disappointed in this trip that we have been waiting so long to take
