This is our 10th+ cruise with RC (we have cruised NCL and Carnival several times as well). RC is our favorite cruise line due to service, food, overall experience and drink options. Embarking and disembarking are a breeze in NJ. That particular port is within driving distance for us in PA, which makes it nice. We always opt to park at the port parking lot as it is so safe/convenient (the exception to this is NY because the price is crazy). This is our first time on this specific ship but we have sailed on Explorer of the Seas several times and enjoy the size/class of this ship. Here is a breakdown of our thoughts on Adventure of the Seas. Drinks: The drink package with RC is the absolute best! We are big drinkers on vacation and have checked out drink packages on NCL and Carnival. There is no daily limit (# of drinks you can have before you are cut off), almost all drinks are covered in the package (menu is not geared to get a few bucks out of you each drink) and the bartenders cater to you regardless! Starbucks coffee and Johnny Rockets shakes are included in the package - it is truly inclusive and that makes this girl happy! We loved all of the bartenders - prompt and friendly service. The Champagne Bar was our favorite based on the staff there and the drink selections. They had specialty martinis and the best premium booze options too. Overall, we felt the drink menus lacked creativity but we managed! Food: We purchased the 4 specialty dining package. We love specialty dining on all of the ships/cruise lines. We enjoy the service and food quality. You are receiving a $100+ meal for a fraction of the cost. We ate at the main dining room once, the sushi place (additional $) once and the buffet once for dinner. All were great! The tutti salad bar on at sea days are also a favorite. The hot buffet with the salad bar was great! I love Indian food and they always had chicken curry! Desserts need to be improved on RC but that has been the case for YEARS so just know that going in and you'll be fine. You don't have to save room for dessert...simple! Entertainment: Spotty. The comedy shows were just too late for us. The Jackpot show was off. The singers couldn't actually sing, the wigs were TERRIBLE. Dancing was great but some of the outfits were just bad. Spending 15 minutes at any of the shows was plenty for us. Love & Marriage show is ALWAYS fun but RC, please change up your questions! They have been the same since we started cruising. This cruise had a ton of great trivia. We normally skip these events but they had a bunch related to music that ended up being pretty fun. More daytime activities would be great. Casino: Fun! Great group of staff members and cruise mates! Cruise mates: People on this ship were great fun! I enjoyed dancing at the nightclub a few evenings. There was a large Autism at Sea group that was well organized and attended. Ports: This was not an exciting itinerary but we obviously knew that in advance. Coco Cay is always fun. We saw lots of sea life (sand sharks / stingray) and a few iguanas, which is always cool. Room/etc.: I will say, our room attendant has ALWAYS been amazing on every cruise line and especially RC. The one we had on this cruise was not that great. He left items from the cruise prior to ours in the vanity (medicine - hi Larry....sorry you left your inhaler etc. behind....I threw it, your bag of pills etc. away and we kept the pepto bismol...lol), a sock was stuck behind a drawer and the phone and knob to flush the toilet was all dusty / icky. The walls and ceiling had gunk on it too so that was a bit gross. Some of the hand sani stations were empty (more than one throughout the cruise) as well. General thoughts: Do your research. You can spend as much or as little while on a cruise. There are things that cost extra money but it is your choice to utilize them. Have fun!

Another great RC cruise!
